Usually I keep the jacket on, but if I’m binge reading I usually take it off because I’m scared I might rip it in my excitement ?
It depends! If I am really into it, it’ll take it off for easier reading but more often than not I keep it on.
No I don’t take off the jacket unless it flops around a lot while I’m reading.
never, but i do remove them when my kids read hardcovers. they tend to be a little more relaxed with the books and the covers end up who knows where!

I hate the cover sliding around as I read. I take it off. But I put it back on when I’m done as others have said, I use the flap as the bookmark. No dog ears on my precious hardcovers.

If it’s a library book and the cover is in plastic, it stays on. Those are my favorite. If it’s my own book, I take the cover off so I don’t ruin it.
I always keep the jacket on. In case anyone wants to see what I’m reading, I can easily show them the cover and the plot.
I usually take it off. I throw the book in my purse/gym bag and don’t want to tear the jacket! I always put it back on immediately after finishing the book!

I always take the jacket off while I read! Most times I don’t even keep the jacket as I like the way the books themselves look without the extra artwork. Unless the cover pictures are really amazing, then I’ll keep the jacket.

If it’s my book I typically take them off & lose them lol bug library books are easier because it’s attached

I take the dust jacket off until I’m done reading it. I have more bookmarks than I know what to do with, so why risk damaging them? I also don’t feel like adjusting them constantly when they slide around and slip off.

I take them off and put them back on afterwards. Unless I have covered it. I used to work in a library covering books so I’m pretty good at covering books. If it’s an Anne Bishop book, or a special book, I cover it. Otherwise I just take the jacket off when I read it and put it back on afterwards.
I remove the dust jacket, lay it on a fluffy pillow with an indent where the spine will rest, ensure the corners don’t come in contact with any rough surfaces and indulge myself in the marvellousness that is reading
