Salems lot- vampires

the shining- haunted hotel and crazy dad attacks wife and kid

the stand- disease kills lots of people and survivors battle evil forces

misery- crazy fan holds writer hostage

the green mile- guy wrongly convicted of killings on death row and his magic goodness effects guards in a sad positive way.
