I’m remarkably fond of reading multiple books covering the same time/people – the example that immediately comes to mind is _It’s Always Something_ by Gilda Radner and _Kiss Me Like A Stranger_ by Gene Wilder. Seeing the two of them recounting their courtship and marriage, followed by her illness, gave me a much more complete picture.
The Endless Steppe was a childhood favorite about life in Siberia after ww2. While a middle grade memoir book, the adults in our mother daughter book club loved it perhaps more than the girls!
Cowboy and Wills. A Friend Like Henry. Both are memoirs written by mothers who have children with autism and the families get dogs who end up being therapy service dogs for their sons.
I just started this one based on recommendations on this page…very interesting and entertaining!!! Kind of like the Glass Castle, but not nearly as shocking….
