I have both nook simple touch and kindle paperwhite I prefer the kindle less harsh on the eyes especially when reading at night when I don’t want to disturb my husband
Is it nook too bright?
The paperwhite is more like reading a book even with light. The book even when I turn light down is still harsh on the eyes

What is the difference between the Oasis and the Kindle Fire?
Kindle fire is more of a tablet and has the typical tablet screen so there is glare etc. Oasis has the no glare screen, built in light etc.
Thanks. The Fire has a built in light, but I am considering getting a Paperwhite which I have heard some folks say is easier on the eyes and more lightweight.
I had a paperwhite also and loved it! I only upgraded because my daughter needed a gift idea!!
The more reading implements, the better, imo. lol
I personally love my Nook. I have a Glowlight. My daughter’s have Kindles but I find the Nook more user friendly. I think it’s personal preference. If you have a local B&N store, they have them there to try out.

Fee, I’m wondering if it is easier to read and more lightweight than the Kindle Fire I have. I love my Kindle Fire, but have thought it would be nice to get the Paperwhite too. My eyes aren’t as good as they used to be.
@Brenda, it is lighter than the Fire. It’s really no difference in being able to read it, to me. I also have a Kindle Oasis that is even lighter.

I use both apps on my Samsung Tablet…Love that I don’t have to choose! LOL
I have a kindle fire, an iPad, a laptop, and my phone, all with the kindle app. I never run out of juice and can read almost anywhere. ? I do prefer the kindle and kindle app, but there are reviews all over. Find someone nice and borrow theirs for an hour to compare.
