I like the kindle paperwhite best, less distractions than you would get with the fire. No Facebook and other apps.

Its lightweight – no distractions and reasonable for the money. And you can read it at night and on the beach

I love mine, and if something happened to it I would buy another one but have had mine for at least 5 years.

I have a Fire so I won’t wake my husband with the light. It is less expensive and pretty versatile. I put the background on black and turn the brightness all the way down.

Agreed, I’ve had several in the paper white one is perfect. You could read anywhere without one. Not only is it good to read in bed at night with the light it also is really good when the sun is really bright.

I have a fire tablet and I don’t like it , mine is very slow and if I try to read outside it gives a horrible glare from the sun making it harder to read. I haven’t used a Kindle but if you only want to read on it then I would go with the Kindle e-reader. The one without the light is cheaper if anything you could always buy a clip on light for it

I have the kindle paperwhite. I had the fire but it got to where I wanted to look on Facebook and stream movies on Netflix rather than read. So I switched to the paperwhite. It has a light so you can read at night. Love it.

I won a kindle fire in a raffle and I love it. Has a night reading feature to filter the blue light to reduce eye strain and wakefulness.

Kindle Fire. You won’t need a light – it is fine in the dark – white letters on a black background.
