The first 3, in my opinion the best ones, were written by Stieg Larson and published after he passed away. The other 2 are not as good. I consider this just a trilogy, I wouldn’t spend my time reading anything else after the first three.
Go with the trilogy. I got the girl in the spider’s web and it is a disappointment. I didn’t read the next one after that. Stick with Stieg Larson, is what I’m saying. He’s the best!?
You have to hang on through the first 100 pages of the first book. Then it takes off. Loved the original author’s writing style. Second author is ok but he’s not Larson.
While you are at it, do not forget the sequel. I loved it so much that at one time,I bought the same book twice. I loved the girl with the dragon tatoo, she is a character you instantly fall in love with.
I found the first book to be quite boring and unnecessarily drawn out. Its one of the only times in my life that I have ever said I preferred the movies ( which are quite good).
It starts slow, and I had a difficult time with it, and then there was one sentence that told me I was hooked. Read them all, including the ones written by David Lagercrantz and watched the movie in Swedish and English.
@Lisa They are much better. They are making a sequel to the English movie, but it only covers the 4th book and completely skips over the 2nd and 3rd books.
Did you see the US version or the Swedish versions. I have to say that the Swedish versions were better. You have to work through subtitles but they were good.
I read the first book in the series but found it to move slow & didn’t really grab me. By end of the book, just wasn’t interested enough to proceed to Book 2.
Some parts are going to be very hard to read because of the content but I loved the books. After you read them read something light because they are heavy.
I read it when it first came out I enjoyed it!
Have you read all 5 of them
@Sargam I didn’t know there was 5 I have read the first three!
A new author picked up the series after Larsen’s death. Not quite the same style but not bad.
@Kristina ok thanks ?
@Dee great – thanks ?
Totally worth it!
I didn’t know there were 5 books I have 3 of them

Couldn’t get into it for some reason. I didn’t find it gripping enough
It’s awesome, probably my favorite trilogy. The first 3 books by Stieg Larson though, I don’t care much for the other 2 that came out after.
Same here Jennifer

Thanks ?
I agree!
Didn’t like it
Read the trilogy when they first came out and have to say they’re three of the best books I have ever read. Awesome
Good!!!!
Love it!
Amazing!!!!!
Loved it! Some tough spots to get through, but worth it!
One of my favorite series. Highly recommend.
Did not care for it.
The best series that I’ve ever read….
❤️❤️
Loved it!
I saw this at goodwill for $.50 cents and was debating weather to get it
One of my all time favorite!
Very good, esp if u like computers
Enjoyed them significantly
Loved these books – hated the movies! Enjoy!
I didn’t like it but enjoyed the Swedish version of the movies
Best books I’ve ever read!
Love them!!!
Loved and could NOT put down!
Intense…
Wonderful!!!!

She is indeed
I loved it
LOVE!!!!!!!!
Thank you everyone for the reviews ❤️??
I just got finished reading the first one and I LOVED it! It took me about 70 pages to get into, but then I was hooked.
It’s messed up, but SO good. Lisbeth is such a badass ❤
Loved them!
The beginning is slow, but does pick up.
True – just started reading
My next reading
Loved them!!
Glad to see some other reviews- I just started and the beginning is quite slow. Trusting you guys that it picks up! ?
So far good – I am just on Page 19 ?
Love!
Great set of books! A good read!
The Audio was wonderful.
Go go go! It is truly a great book!
Yesssss it’s picking up ??
Lisbeth is my favorite character through all the books in the series.
I’m thinking of starting this series myself. I see good things everyone is saying about it
Yes it’s getting interesting page by page
Yes, once you read the 1st, you have to read all
Well written but very violent.
I’m in the minority. This is one of the few books that I just couldn’t finish. Hope you enjoy it.
Great series; I couldn’t put it down.
I loved them all and continue to read them even though the original author passed away and no longer writes them
I found the first book to be quite boring and unnecessarily drawn out. Its one of the only times in my life that I have ever said I preferred the movies ( which are quite good).
There is some serious violence and painful sex scene in first book. Despite this a wonderful intense set of books.
I have the series…..never read it but I’ll have to give it a try
Could not get into it
The first book was really slow then it picks up! It’s really good
Loved all but 3
It starts slow, and I had a difficult time with it, and then there was one sentence that told me I was hooked. Read them all, including the ones written by David Lagercrantz and watched the movie in Swedish and English.
Yes started the 1st one today
I want to live on a planet with Lisbeth Salander
Someone told me the Swedish version of the movies were better.
@Lisa They are much better. They are making a sequel to the English movie, but it only covers the 4th book and completely skips over the 2nd and 3rd books.
@Sage that is just wrong.
I know. ?
I think for me I made a mistake in seeing the movie before reading the books. Couldn’t finish them.
Did you see the US version or the Swedish versions. I have to say that the Swedish versions were better. You have to work through subtitles but they were good.
@Dee I agree. I saw both and prefer the Swedish ones…
I loved it
Loved the series
I enjoyed it. I haven’t read the new one yet but I will get to it.
Excellent, but you have to accept and enjoy its pacing. It is worth your time.
Love it!!!!
Excellent, but stay away from the “sequel” written after his death. It’s crap.
Great series. The first three, that is. I don’t reckon much to the one after, by the other author. Don’t know, about anyone else.
I read the first book in the series but found it to move slow & didn’t really grab me. By end of the book, just wasn’t interested enough to proceed to Book 2.
Really good
First third of first book is hard going but keep with it
I really liked it. It’s a series I would reread again.
Could never get into the series
Love them
Some parts are going to be very hard to read because of the content but I loved the books. After you read them read something light because they are heavy.
I really like them, they were “can’t put down” books for me.
Loved them. They are very dark.
They’re very entertaining. And it’ll make you disappointed 7-11 isn’t as great as in the books(if you live in the US).
Do you mean the shop 7/11? Lol we used to have them here years ago…..
Yes. They’re much fancier in Sweden. Or art least fancier in Swedish fiction.
I enjoyed them all 1st one is slow starting, but worth it for what comes next, you are in for a bumpy ride.
Great series
Great books ?
Love love love!
Loved it, haven’t read others yet..
