If I had the money and was a big reader of ebooks, I’d buy the Oasis. But I don’t have the money and am not a big ereader, so I do just fine with my Paperwhite (which is also a very good ereader).
I love the way it fits in my hand, it’s honestly more comfortable than other e-readers I’ve had. The lighting is so even, my eyes aren’t strained at all. The removable charging cover means it can be even lighter than it already is. And the battery goes forever!
@Donna The Paperwhite is lightweight also, but shaped like a small tablet, so the handholding isn’t quite as nice as the Oasis. (And both are much easier on the eyes than the Fire, as are ereaders in general over tablets.)
I’ve been doing alot of reseaarch on this as I am going to buy an e reader too. I’m going with the PaperWhite. I want mine for travel and reading in bed. I guess if you are going to use it all the time, you might consider the Oasis – but it just doesn’t seem to offer enough to justify the price. I posted this same qestion last week and the responses were overwhelmingly in favor of the PaperWhite.
I love my paperwhite
I love my oasis

I could not love my oasis more. You’ll have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands ?
I’ve had the Kindle Fire but now just want a device for books …. nothing fancy…oasis is waterproof and an inch bigger- any other major advantage?
You can listen to audiobooks
Disable touchscreen while reading
It’s lightweight (much lighter than Kindle Fire) and has a bump perfect for one hand holding.
@Shelly hows The PaperWhite on size/ weight… comfortable?

@Whitney Oasis or PaperWhite?
The new oasis doesn’t have a charging cover
@Donna oasis

Sorry for asking everyone again- I missed your post!
@Donna, we need all the help we can get!!!
@Michele ?
Paperwhite
Paperwhite
I love my Paperwhite!
I don’t seem to be able to justify the price of the Oasis. I never read in the tub or by water so that’s not a plus for me
Same thing I was thinking!
I do read in the tub, and the Oasis is a really nice machine, but it is not 200$ nicer than the paperwhite
Voyage ❤️
