It depends; i ethier get books two times a month or once a month and like speical stuff example bday i get up to $50 worth of books and the other times it depends on how much book spending money i have for the week

Wes

Usually 2 or 3 times a month and I usually buy around 50 books each time.

There is no set time to when I buy books. I usually spend $40-50 and get 5-7 books for that amount.

Usually I buy a book right before I finish my current one. If it is a book series I buy two at a time. If not I buy one. That requires to have enough money to spend. If not I stick to videogames

Usually 5 books a month, now that i have so far to get to Barnes and Noble. 3 if i have to go to Amazon

It varies based on if it’s something I really want to read, or if I need it to complete a set, or if there’s a good sale. Some months, I’ll splurge and buy more than ten, others, I won’t. I do buy most of mine used, so that’s a factor as well.

I’m spoiled. I work at a bookstore so I get free books. So I add to my TBR list at least once a week.

But I’ll buy at least once a month for myself or friend or family.

Free books?! I’m so jealous!!

1

We get (not for everything) reader copies. So I can read something not due out until December.

Like I said, spoiled. 😉

Well, I’m pea green with envy. 🙂

I am limited to a strict once a month policy, which I take to mean that once a month I can buy about five books and maybe one or two more, just in case…???

I get free two-day shipping with Amazon Prime and most of my books come from there. I guess it just depends both on what I’m doing, and on what exactly you mean by “at a time”.

I purchased 28 books in February (wow, one each day on average, and the month’s not even over yet). This is a bit heavy in volume for me, my average month is probably 10.

I think 4 was the most in one batch this month. On average I’d say I probably buy 2 books at once, but then I might order more a few days later. The most all at once is probably somewhere around 10.

Isn’t prime amazing?!

1
Steven

I love it! I can’t imagine not having it. I’ve had Prime since 2009 or 2010.

Btw, if you’re a student you get a discount on it. By default they allow the discount to only happen for a certain number of years, but if you email their support a copy of your schedule they’ll continue to extend it beyond that too.

Yes you will be in trouble. I have to put my kindle out of sight so I don’t go crazy and starting buying books.

I check the free books on Amazon at least three times a week. I go to the library book sales whenever I can. I don’t get the opportunity to get to the book store as often as I would like. If I am shopping by myself I can take time to look at books, but if woth someone else I don’t get to look as long as I like. How many at a time depends on what I find.

I have limited access to books where I live. So when I see books I’ve been wanting to get I go wild and buy as many as I can.

As often as possible. My grandma usually buys them for me and a couple years ago we went to Barnes and Nobel at least 5 times and I got 15-20 books each time. But recently there has been more of a financial crunch and I was able to get 6 or so for Christmas and a couple others since then, luckily there is a second hand bookstore that opened up recently in my town so I can get 2-4 for $20 so that’s what I’ve been doing lately

We’re they all “nearly new” or from a charity shop. On average what would the cost be of one. ?

1

6 of these were new, they were £8 each, the rest were from a charity shop. 3 books for 50p.

When I have spare money I buy one otherwise I just go to charity shops or a second hand book shop, they give you 50% back on a book so does help a lot.

I can only deal with one at a time… I can read a book a day… And I don’t get people who buy books and then leave them on their shelves for years. That’s why I love the kindle app, i can read samples, and if I don’t like the sample I dont buy the book. Saves money and shelf space

i went overboard thise days….. to comepsate for the 200usd studie books i had to buy last month… so i bought alot of 2end hand books… like 6 Stiefvater books, and 2 books for my mom and another one. and this weekend im going to a 2end hand market where books cost less then 1 usd soo yea….. but i decided to threat my self with atleast 2-3 books every month but all depends on the price tho. Books in my own native cost a fortune, and i found a UK site that ships for free and sells dirt cheap english/german books. So that makes me happy, since im used to spend like 20-50usd pr boook…

It’s not consistent you know. I had a day when I bought 20 books at a time. Then I also had some long periods when I didn’t buy anything at all, for like three months. I never buy new books until I’m done with what I already have. Never. So sometimes there are dry spells when I don’t buy books. But you know even after that, sometimes I cave. Like today. I had a whole collection of Coelho at my disposal, still unread and I ordered a complete works of Edgar Allan Poe today. So, I hope you get the picture.

It’s according to what I find. I rarely buy books new.I prefer to treasure hunt used book stores, yard sales, and thrift stores. Found a 1918 first edition The Gods of Mars by Burroughs in very good condition at a thrift store. One has to wonder what I missed.
