I read a short love story. It’s the only time I read romance but they’re perfect for getting my mind off of my last book

I go straight to my default genre and pick one that’s been on hold for ‘special occasions’

Depending upon the genre, I like to live in those feelings for a while—if I feel an emotional attachment. Allow them to reveal the messages tucked between the words. Examine how they affect me, and my perception of the world.

Short stories usually help me. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes or something from http://classicshorts.com/ works for me.

I can’t just start any old book. Either another of the same author (it’s hard to switch style) or a huge move – fiction to nonfiction, for instance.

Read a light story, or short stories, then excitedly look at my piles of books and decide what to read next!! Love that feeling….

What is a book hangover? To be hungover implies over indulgence and there is no such thing when it comes to books!

If nothing is grabbing me, I’ll take a break from reading for a bit. Maybe watch some book YouTube videos or peruse a bookstore if I want to get back into something.

Pick up a book that’s more difficult to read. For example, I’m reading GOT off and on. A lot of those books are taxing to read for me, so I’ll read a few chapters here and there. I can’t sit down and read all day in those books.
