They are contemporary for the most part. I’ve only read one (Dear John), and it was emotional for sure, but just okay plot and character development wise imo. I probably won’t read any others by him because I’m more into sci-fi, fantasy, and dystopian. (I definitely will continue to watch the movies when I need a good tearjerker though lol)

I’m not a fan. They are too much romance. I love and good contemporary but cannot handle a story with no plot but the romance.

I enjoyed a few of his but not all of them. I did like the notebook and safe haven as cliche as they were 🙂

he has said his books are anti-romance and dislikes the genre. Because of his disdain, there is NEVER a HEA. Therefore, i return the favor and don’t read them.

If you like books with a guaranteed sad ending, they are well-written books. but for me, life is too full of sad endings where love does not conquer all. So, for me, they’re a pass.

I’ve liked all of the movies better than the books. His writing always falls flat to me.

A walk to remember was really good. Haven’t had the urge to read any others though!

I’ve read almost all of his books, and really liked the rescue. The others seemed more like a chore to finish, I can’t start a book and not finish it.

I love romance and I did enjoy the couple of books I read by him, but they are all pretty much the same story with different characters lol. Save haven was good and interesting though because there was a little twist to his usual imo.

I’m reading The Last Song by him now and I am LOVING it! This is the 3rd book by him that I’m reading and I’ve loved every one of them so far! Tied in first place with this one as my fav so far is See Me! Such a good book! And the movie adaptations are fantastic! I’ve watched all but 2. You should check them out if you find you like his work. They are really based in the Romance genre, so don’t read them if that’s not what you like. You couldn’t class his books in any other genre imo. But I’m a sucker for romance, cliché or not, so I’m going to say that his work is BRILLIANT!!!

I’m not a fan but don’t dislike him. I heard all great things going in, but the books just didn’t live up to the hype for me. They read just like every other adult contemporary romance. I can see how others would like them that much though.
