Both are good… apples & oranges, but if I had to pick one… the Nightingale.

The Nightingale might be the best book I’ve ever read. I loved The Great Alone, too, but not as much as The Nightingale.

I agree with you. I read The Nightingale first and read The Great Alone right after it. I think they’re both beautifully written with great characters.
The great alone is in my tbr pile. Will see which one I like when I’m done. If it beats the nightingale I will be pleasantly surprised

Love K Hannah–I enjoyed Nightingale way more–actually I have enjoyed alot of her older books way more than Great Alone, but it’s still pretty good. I read Between Sisters as my first experience with Hannah which got me hooked to gobble up all the others!

I loved the The Nightingale but I also liked The Great Alone. I don’t think you can compare the two books, they are such different stories. I think they just prove what a great author Kristin Hannah is and how she can write such different storylines and hold your interest.

They are very different stories. It depends on your preference. I read both. Both books are very good. I really enjoyed the Great Alone.
I liked both but loved The Nightingale-The Great Alone was good but the subject matter was hard to hear.

Both are good but I favored The Great Alone. Kristen Hannah joined our book club for our discussion of The Nightingale and then shared some of the background on The Great Alone….might have swayed me towards The Great Alone.
