Once you have finished a book, do you start reading another one straight away or do you have break first ?

Definitely straight away ??
I clean my house before I start another book, just so I don’t feel guilty lol
??????
??
I sometimes am reading more than 1 book at a time and am always reading no break x
Definitely straight away 😉
Straight away..?
Depends what I’ve been reading. When I read Lolita, I needed a massive break and avoided all dark books to get my head back to normality.
Straight away
Straight away
Depends if I have a book hangover.. too deeply involved after a good one to start a new one
If it’s been a tense murder thriller,I like to read something light, before I start another Also if I go straight into another,I can get mixed up especially if it’s not a follow on.Need to wind down!
Put one down and pick up the next one.
Immediately xx
Another straight away
Depends on how much of an impression the book has made on me. If it is huge, I have to gather my thoughts first and cut myself loose from the book so to speak. If it’s one in a series I think I’d have to go on to the next one! And if it’s just ok, I can move on immediately.
Straight away….no time to lose!!
yep – but after about 5 or 6 on the trot I need a break! There is just so much murder and mayhem a girl can stand!
usually start another straight away x
Straight away.
It all depends on the time of day. It also depends if I have another book with me.
It depends. If a novel has really gripped me, I like to bask in those feelings and think about what I’ve read.
Straight away. I take a break from crime books if it gets too much.
Me too Shelley x
Yes that’s what I tend to do too.
Reading without contemplation is like eating without digestion. (Unknown source. Not my own quote.)
Like it! 😀
Depends.
If I am reading a series, I like to go straight to the next one. When I have read a really good book, it is sometimes difficult to find an equal, then I take a break or switch genre.
Easy to get ‘crimed out’ and start confusing your next book with previous ones you’ve read!
I got totally confused thinking I was reading about something that had happened in another book with different lead character….Need time out to adjust!
I have to have a period of mourning
I like to have a pile ready for the nest one,I get “antsy” if I don’t have another one in the offing when I have nearly finshed one!
I can’t cope if I have no books lined up. Luckily between Netgalley and Bookbub I have loads to read.
Straight in whoosh lol
Maybe a few hours In between or next morning if I finish at night
If I am reading books in a series then switch authors to another book and then go back to the series 🙂
straight in, its my nightly ritual
Especially if I really am involved in a book I find it really hard to get stuck into the next one. Having said that I always have more than one book on the list ready to read,so easy now that I have a kindle
I always have to read the first chapter of a new book as soon as I finish one.
Mostly straight away
Straight away.
Straight away.
Straight away.
Sometimes I re-read a book immediately I’ve finished! X
Lol Sometimes I race to the end and then read it again more slowly!
staight away….
It depends on what else I have to do. Normally yes but if I have a paper to write then I might have a break from reading for no more than a day.
I dive right in… head first!!!
Straight away
I usually start reading another one same day x
Have a little break, of a few hours, then straight back into it. ?
Straight away
Mostly…
If it’s a series I go straight on to the next.
Really, There have been only two series that I have been able to do that with. Otherwise I will read a totally different book afterwards.
Need a few hours in between.
Put the book down think about it for about 5mins then look to see whats next.
