I did read and listen to the audiboook. I think it’s funny how not reading a popular book is a badge if honor ??? haven’t read Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings ?

1

ElizabethQuestion author

@Irram I haven’t read that either lol
I haven’t read Crawdads bc I’m nervous I won’t love it. Everyone talks about slow start and I don’t want to pick it up and be disappointed and not finish it, that’s why I’m considering audio.

1
Jenna

Haven’t even put it on the TBR list yet

@Bretta thanks! I think that’s where I’m headed. I know myself. Same thing might happen to me with Great Alone. I started it and it dragged. Might do audio for that one as well. I don’t want to miss out on these great reads.

This is a book that unfolds sloooowly, so if you don’t have the patience audio may be the way to go. But the story is excellent.

Physical. The audio narrator’s accent seemed phony to me, and it didn’t help that the book has all of these bizarre and unrealistic geographical references. So I just kept hollering “SERIOUSLY?!” every time she fake drawled about driving from the coast to Asheville to shop. ?

0

Angie

@Meredith yes! New York City is actually closer to the outer banks than Asheville ?

The audio book is killing me dead. I think its making me hate the book.
