I married a guy who loves to read. We figure we probably met first at the first West Coast fan-run Star Trek convention. We knew each other at least 20 years before we got married, and it was several mutual friends who figured it out before we did. I used to do a lot of fantasy art, which I sold in the art shows at science fiction conventions and he was part of a group of Southern California fans who liked my art. We’ve shared many books. We’re still individuals, so there are some things I read and love that he doesn’t really care for, and some authors he likes and I don’t. Which is fine!
Crazy, my business partner who used to be my boyfriend, got me totally hooked on Star Trek. And, we met through a mutual friend too. He went to the Star Trek convention but took me to a comic con convention.
