Loved some of these, would also add Longitude by Dava Sobell , Surgeon of Crowthorne by Simon Winchester and my husband has just finished Unbroken and loved it, oooh and Good Women of China by Xinran – amazing book, must stop too many good books once you start thinking 🙂

@Rosa have you also read The Dreams of Ada? It was mentioned as a reference in The Innocent Man, based on a similar case in the same town and also really good.
