Try Julie Garwood. My favorite is Guardian Angel, or maybe The Gift. I also like The Prize. They’re all historical fiction and I love the humor in them.

Veronica Fourie it is very good although different from his usual.
A little comedy, a little mystery, a little romance, and a little twist at the end.
