The Little Prince.
I think its important for adults to read it too.
It’s on my TBR list!
Pipi Longstocking, Little Women, Nancy Drew mysteries, Amelia Bedalia (several books), Bernstein Bear books (my daughter’s favorite), Beverly Cleary books. Teenagers read Ellen Foster, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Rebecca, Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, Hole, and James Herriott’s books. There are many more but this is all I can think of at the moment.
IMHO I feel every kid by high school should read The Alchemist! It’s so inspirational, and has a very powerful message about going after your dreams! I just got the paperback version for my 13 year old daughter, and I can’t wait to discuss all our favorite parts with each other.
Aesop’s Fables
anne of green gables ,the little prince,pip longstocking,the baby sitters club,
Nancy Drew, as tweens: The Diary of Ann Frank. ❤️
@Barb I’m ashamed to admit this, but I never read The Diary Of Anne Frank until last year, and it deeply disturbed me that someone would kill such an amazing person just because of her race. I think all kids boys and girls should read that book in high school! And if every kid read that book, there would never be another holocaust ever again!
All books! I don’t think I could pick one ? I try not to limit my children too much in what they read and they tend to make sensible, age appropriate choices. I’m just happy that they read and think it’s important that they enjoy what they are reading.
The Giver by Lois Lowry
The Giver. Ender’s Game.

Start ’em young ?! Charlotte’s Web, The Velveteen Rabbit, the Mrs. Piggle Wiggle books, the Dr. Doolittle books, The Little Prince.
Dr. Doolittle is amazing! Unfortunately, in my part of Canada they are impossible to find and they are no longer supported at school libraries. :'(
Peter Rabbit and other tales by Beatrix Potter, the Arthur series, Clifford, Dear Canada/I Am Canada series, etc. I can’t really say for sure what I would consider important for a child to read as I don’t have one of those, but I do have sisters and one of them loves reading. 🙂
Little blue and little yellow by leo leonni, the lorax by dr. Seuss, Charlotte’s web by Eb white, little house on the prairie by Laura ingalls wilder and to kill a mockingbird when they’re a little older
Probably ‘Charlotte’s Web’ by E.B. White, I told my niece about Charlotte because she’s a bit scared of spiders, my niece didn’t look convinced about Charlotte’s baby spiders but apparently she’s cool with Charlotte?
Those Charlotte spiders are FREAKING HUGE! I live in farm country and I am okay with spiders. Honestly, I am, but not when I am looking at one the size of my bloody face! Well, alright, I am over-exaggerating the size. I am okay with spiders EXCEPT for those huge monster sized barn spiders. I once walked into one of their webs because their webs are humongous. Okay, I am over it. Have you read E.B. White’s other books?
@Tiffany no, I have not x
