It is about a gay man born into an extremely conservative Ireland. It follows his life and every section is 7 years down the road during a significant period in his life. It’s simply magical. The best stand alone I’ve ever read, hands down. The author has a way of making you laugh and then sob all on the same page of text. I cannot recommend it enough.
A great LGBT YA novel: “Tessa Masterson Will Go To Prom.” It’s about a girl living in a conservative American town who comes out as a lesbian. She faces backlash from her peers and the community after announcing plans to take her girlfriend to prom – wearing a tuxedo! (To complicate things, her male best friend asked her to the prom – VERY publicly – and fights between lotalty to Tessa and resentment at her for hiding her sexual orientation from him). It’s one of my FAVORITE books!
The Court series and the Throne of Glass series… Every book will make you smile and cry she makes you fall in love with her characters so easily. Even the ones you hate at the beginning and you don’t even realize you’re starting to love them until you already do lol.
Fault in our stars where Isaac both simulatiously tells doctors to screw themself he doesn’t want to see a world without his friend and give him the damn eye he want to perv on girls
Allegiant, the last book in the Dover gent series, I cried at the end. Although I was no happy with the way they ended the movie when it was made into a movie because it was nothing like the book ending
A Short History of the Girl Next Door
Radium Girls
The Heart’s Invisible Furies
