Picoult is known for her twists. Even so, I didn’t expect the one in Leaving Time. Just didn’t see it. And I was looking for something.

Omg the movie had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! I had no idea what it was even about before it started so I was shocked every 5 mins ?

1
Krista

She really is crazy I mean past it maybe

1
TamaiaQuestion author

@Krista What more could she do?! Lol you’d think she’d be exhausted

1
Krista

I grew in the town this book was wrote about and she researched the town because she nailed it 100% it creeped me out

1
Krista

@Tamaia well the ending was the ending I would assume on that kinda level but I can’t even imagine it’s helpless as he was in the end showed that. I could not read it

I honestly think this is the only book I have ever read that I didn’t see it coming and I went back through the book because i just knew he had screwed it up — but he didn’t — he just wrote it perfectly. Highly recommend book not top be confused with the movie which sucked.

1
Briana

Yea i had to reread it almost immediately. It remains my favorite plot twist ever.

1
Kelsie

Yes. This wasn’t my favourite book. It was good though and I didn’t see the ending at all.

1

I need to read this!!! I watched the might when i was like 10 and is stuck with me since!

6
Reply
Jacqueline

I am kinda confused when people say this book has a twist.

1
Kelsie

Well the twist is HUGE! And absolutely stupid.

0
Jacqueline

Lol I didn’t feel like there was a twist at all really. The book gives up its secrets right away and it’s more just a thriller than mystery. Still good though!

0
Kelsie

Bahahaha. I’m an idiot. YOU ARE RIGHT. I read this as “behind her eyes” which had a huge and stupid twist. Behind closed doors had zero twist. Just wrapped up nicely lol.

I just read the synopsis for this one… sounds super disturbing!

0
Sharna

I highly recommend it!! It is a little slow to start but well worth the effort. It is disturbing but because of they way it is narrated, it takes the edge of it…somewhat. The end is horrific but very in theme with the dark subject matter. There is a movie adaptation too which is meant to be good but I have never seen it as I want to keep my visuals that I created from the book…if that makes sense!

1
Philippa

Totally agree – I had no clue about the plot twist and it left my jaw clanging around my knees when it was revealed!

2
Sharna

Definitely one that stays with you!

1
Kelsie

If I could have skipped the first 75% of the book I would have but luckily I did manage to get threw it and the end was so good and so intense and completely worth the read.

2

I love Eleanor and park but I didn’t think it had a point to the book just a rambling first love story. It was just different to me. Wanted to bunch a few in that book though

0
Emma

The pointlessness was my favorite part. Books without rhyme or reason are what i read

0

I have not read a book like that so it was something odd for me I loved it though. Then again now that I think about it love doesn’t have rhyme nor reason it just is

Gone Girl. I hated the ending, I felt the MC just didn’t get what she deserved and that the overall ending didn’t make much sense

3
Reply
Krista

Well I think it’s because it left room for a second book which she does in future want to write is my guess. There is talk of one but it would be all about the end which I don’t think I could stomach her with what she could do. I mean she is bad enough on the husband let alone the ending she planned.
