Winnie the Pooh. Or anything else, really. It doesn’t really matter what you read. A 5 month old would only need to here the sound of your voice. But I love Winnie.

We have a couple of the BabyLit series (Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility). They’re fun because they bring in characters from stories I love, but teach concepts for little minds. We also really love the Llama Llama books.

If you’re looking to engage the child, anything with bright pictures or sensory features.. Like, Pat the Bunny. If you’re just reading to him/her for the sake of reading, choose whatever you like. It’s your tone of voice that matters more than the words at that age 🙂

I understand. I usually nap myself

Yup… or clean or grab a shower or just read. Not easy to find personal time when they’re little like that. I never did understand why I had to nap when I was little, but I sure do get it now!! Hahaha!

Still trying to get the hang of being a mommy

Hahaha you’ll do fine… Just protect nap time with your life! Sometimes it’s your only sanity in a day 😉

Oh that’s nice!! Most of my nanny work comes from places where a parent doesn’t have that kind of spousal/partner support. Hence the need for a good babysitter… I’d say use one of those nap times to bake him some cookies 🙂
