If you want another good read try J.D. Barker. I read ” The Fourth Monkey”. Now the sequel, “Fifth to Die”. His new book “Ready I” comes out in October.

@Lowell Just finished the Outsider. Love SK’s use of crossover characters but it’s still a stand alone book !

I read Mr. Mercedes and the following books, they were good. I read Life of Pi and kept wondering why people thought it was so good. Did not appeal to me at all

Not to give anything away but I gave up on Pi when the boy was alone with the tiger on the boat. The story just didn’t grip me enough. I usually give a book 50 pages. If I’m bored or the story seems to drift, I stop reading and go back to my TBR pile. Life’s too short to struggle. There’re too many literary classic I’ve still to read. I’m reading ‘The Jungle’ by Upton Sinclair, right now. It’s going good, almost finished.

I’m going to say Mr Mercedes. Here’s why, if you have read SK it’s a little different which I enjoyed. Not the standard King we have all come to know and love (and some hate). It’s one of those stories that I’ll think about later. Like, dang. I’m still sad about that. I did not enjoy Life of Pi at all so I would no help with that decision ?
