Let’s talk about kevin,.,are people born evil? This will have you questioning society and yourself..proper inner turmoil arguing with yourself throughout..
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. It makes you think about the ethical & moral treatment of people with mental disabilities but in the most gripping and readble story.
I’ve just finished “we need to talk about Kevin” what an amazing book! Not a nice subject but very thought provoking. Another amazing book is “Monique and the mango rains” it’s actually a true story of monique who lives in Africa and trained to be a health visitor but basically ends up being the villages midwife and doctor. Awe inspiring, I highly recommend.
I loved Lionel Shrivers’ “We Need to Talk About Kevin”. Themes included: nature/nurture debate, causes of crime, sociopathy, parenting skills, blame and forgiveness, amongst others. Fantastic read. The film wasn’t a patch on the book.
Hannah’s shoes…a story about a dying child’s bravery and how she touches those around her…

Just ordered it @Sloth, thanks for the recommendation.
You’re welcome, @Jane. Hope you really enjoy it. It takes a while to get into it as she has an unusual writing style but stick with it!
