From my 8th grade classroom with a bit of key coding (which may be slightly inaccurate).
I cannot recommend The Nowhere Girls enough.
I’m impressed with your coding system!!
@Ronnie
@Emily I’m keeping a lot of spreadsheets this year! Hoping this system works for maintaining my books and to help give suggestions.
I’ll Give You the Sun- Jandy Nelson
I’m not sure if this counts but the apocalypse of elena mendoza is really good (the main character is a lesbian) and it has so many funny pop culture references. It was a really good read
I Was Born For This by Alice Oseman!
Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno
Girl Made of Stars by Ashley Herring Blake (haven’t actually read this but I’m pretty sure it’s LGBT)
Lies My Girlfriend Told Me by Julie Anne Peters
Also I haven’t read this but Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit by Jaye Robin Brown
It’s gotten a lot of bad reviews and criticism, but I personally am just so desperate for more lesbian ya I’m willing to read anything, so if you’re like me when it comes to that it might be worth checking out nonetheless
I didn’t love it, but that was mainly because I felt weird about the religious aspects. I know some people think differently, but it’s hard for me to reconcile how someone could be a Christian when so many of their religious people / clergy would say something about LGBTQIA+ relationships being sinful or reason why they will burn in hell. If you don’t feel the same hangup, you might love it.
@Melissa that makes sense. I don’t think that’d stop me from enjoying it, because I have religious friends who are part of the LGBT community, and I know why they and their family don’t think of it as something sinful
And I also have Christian friends who support me
They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera.
Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller, Girls Made of Show and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust and Creatures of Will and Temper by Molly Tanzer

The Flywheel (I think it’s called Get It Together Dalilah in countries other than Australia) by Erin Gough is a queer young woman/ coming of age story.

LEAH ON THE OFFBEAT!!!!!!!!! ????
Beauty of the Broken by Tawni Waters.
(It made me cry)
Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters. Haven’t seen it mentioned yet. It’s historical fiction, but is coming of age, lesbian oriented, beautifully written.
It’s great isn’t it! I also enjoyed fingersmith and Affinity!
I just finished one that’s called Magic & the Pagan, it’s YA, LGBT written for male on male, high fantasy, & um, highly graphic when it comes to the sex scenes. No lie, they were pretty hot.
“Amelia Westlake” was great, and female orientated
Oranges are not The only fruit by Jeanette Winterson, The color purple by Alice Walker, The miseducation of Cameron Post by Emily M. Danforth, Leah on The Offbeat by Becky Albertalli, Fingersmith by Sarah Waters, Fun Home by Alison Bechdel, Beauty Queens by Libba Bray and How to be Both by Ali Smith are all more or less coming of age, female oriented LGBT stories ?
Sarah Waters, Becky Albertalli, David Levithan, Jeanette Winterson, Adam Silvera, Christopher Isherwood, Benjamin Alire Sáenz and Christopher Rice are all good writers who create a lot of LGBT content btw ?
Fingersmith and tipping the velvet by Sarah waters. Very LGBT coming of age and also historical fiction!
