I don’t read many romances but I read this for a reading challenge last year: It was sweet and totally melted my cold, sarcastic heart.

The Pursuit of Mary Bennet: A Pride and Prejudice novel by Pamela Mingle. It was delightful. And no bad language or sex, but it wasn’t boring either. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Emma by Jane Austen, if you’re into the classics. The Choice by Nicholas Sparks, actually had a happy ending. I also really liked The Simple Wild by KA Tucker!

A Love Haunting
http://books2read.com/ALoveHaunting

I am a dead guy, and this is my ghost love story.

We were enjoying the best life has to offer. Emily and I were expecting our first child, and I had become a doctor. I couldn’t have been happier if I won a million dollars. That beautiful night, we drove home from vacation in the Outer Banks, chatting about our baby’s first Christmas. But when a dilapidated station wagon crossed the center line and clipped my car, sending it flying into the trees, my live future ended… forever.

After the paramedics loaded Emily into the ambulance, I found myself aimlessly wandered down the sandy roads of the OBX, convinced I would be one of those hapless ghosts destined to hang around where they died. But I was sent a miracle. A skateboarding angel named Luke came into my dead life to teach me how to be a ghost. Then I was befriended by a trio of ghosts who haunt The Black Pelican in Kitty Hawk. Now my dead life is cool, but there is something missing… I need one last goodbye night with Emily. My new friends and Luke have offered to help me get that night but what will it cost me? Is there something worse than death for a ghost?

A Love Haunting is a “don’t miss” book. Do you believe in forever love and wonder if life after death is possible? If you enjoy reading books that touch your heart and where you find yourself fighting back the tears, holding your breath, and bursting out laughing, then A Love Haunting is perfect for you. Come and check it out!

The author has retired, but Lavyrle Spencer writes lovely novels. You may have to go to a book reseller, but it will be worth the trip.
