Looking for books with a similar vibe to the Dark souls games and Bloodbourne. Something dark, grim and full of action and monsters. Any ideas?

You would love The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks

My fav book series of all time.. hands down
I second this. Amazing series!
@Eki I 3rd this it is incredible.
Thanks will check it out
Book of the New Sun
@Stephanie thanks ?
These books are SO rad
Anything by joe ambercrombie
@Kristin iv still to read a Joe book. Will check it out, thanks
Only major thing is Abercrombie only has no monsters in his work. The closest things that come to Monsters are still humans. But great books none the less, and definitely dark.
^v accurate. Not characters you like or find redeeaming.
The closest thing I can think of is Abomination, at least on the monster side of things. The Crimson Empire books by Alexander Marshall are another one. Has a giant mongoose demon, and Horned Wolves are essentially The Great Wolf Sif.
@Lucas sounds awesome thanks
dark souls? why did you have to. bring that up? that’s when I realized I was getting old. I had to
have my kids defeat half the Boss’s for me?
My nephew got father into Horizon Zero Farm in an afternoon than I did in two months. I only play a few hours after work, but still.
@James I’m a life long gamer but i think my twitch reflexes are slowing. i’m 54
Yeah I can’t do quick games like Smash Brothers anymore.
Its an awesome game but so brutal at times
Malazan Book of the Fallen. So Dark theres a metal band named after it. ?
I post this to bring funny, but as I read over it, it seems like I’m being rude. To tired to figure out how to make it work, so disclaimer.
I’ll see your Erikson and raise you a Tolkien.
There are 23 bands whose names are obviously references to middle Earth.

Haha nice! Though, I could rebuttal with the fact that LotR is much more mainstream. Not many people have heard of Malazan. Which is sad, because it’s amazing lol.
Touche. LotR is more mainstream, but some of those bands are so deep in death and black metal that they would not know what mainstream is.
I thought there were about 10 bands until I googled, and I thought I was “into” that type of music.
Love bloodsouls games, i have platinum on bloodborne.
Possibly the black company series from Glen Cook
Black Company is dope, like the person above me stated.
The demon cycle series.
I was gonna say that! ;P
10/10 agree!
