This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen – Tadeusz Borowski. It’s a book of short stories, based on his own experience. It’s what he doesn’t say, what he just hints at, which gets to you. Do not read in public.

Oh the whole damn Outlander series.
I cried so hard reading the last of the series while eating alone in a restaurant, two waitresses came over to ask if I was okay.
With wet cheeks and a runny nose, I confessed a favorite child died in my book.

This book is very interesting. It will make you feel all kinds of emotions, and it will also make you feel sinful for crying (the love in this story goes against the norm, and is far from acceptable (hence the name).

Me too! Message in a bottle ripped my soul apart. I had to take a break from it, cause I couldn’t see the pages ?

1
Cathy

@Heather agreed. Message in a bottle was a real tear jerker, the notebook was also one that had me actually sobbing….. no ladylike tears…..great big gulping sobs. I couldn’t bring myself to watch the movies, the books were just that good that I’m sure a movie couldn’t compete

1
Jenn

I actually loved most of the movie for Message in a Bottle. The part I thought silly was Garrett and Catherine counting time between lightning and thunder, it was a bit too over acted childish. The rest was quite moving!

Bridges of Maddison County is another great book to cry to. But, if you’re looking for a good cry that’s not romance, try The Color Purple or Old Yeller will rip your heart out and crush it beneath their literary feet ?
