I just bought it at Barnes n nobles good for young adults and older adults! My daughter is watching the series so I thought I’d read the book so we could discuss the idea of it
Anything by Agatha Christie. Harry Bingham has a series about Fiona Griffith which is really good. Toni (Anthony) Hill is good. Greg Iles’ Penn Cage series is good. Cozy mysteries: Susan Albert Wittig, Laura Childs, Ellery Adams. And I have to agree with several of the previous posts. I have lots more so let us know if you need more recommendations.
@Mary, I purchased We Were Liars by E. Lockhart, The Apartment by S.L. Grey and The Widow by Fiona Barton. Now I just need to decide which to read first! Lol ?
Some of my favorite authors who have terrific series: John Sandford, Tony Hillerman, and Sue Grafton, for starters. If you’re looking for fun, light mysteries, you can’t beat Janet Evanovich. I have a long list of great amateur sleuth mystery authors, plus some great historical mystery writers as well!
Thanks for the recommendations. I just picked up a few mysteries today: We Were Liars, The Widow and The Apartment. But please feel free to share more authors. I like historical mysteries, too.
If you like historical mysteries try Martha Grimes’ Richard Jury series or Victoria Thompson’s Gaslight series. Bridgette Heyer, better known for her finances writes really good mysteries. And if course Ellery Queen of Rex Stout books are great.
Maureen Jennings writes the very popular (at least here in Canada) Murdoch mysteries set in Toronto in the early 1900s. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re popular in other countries too. Ellis Peters wrote the Brother Cadfael series, and of course there’s the amazing Anne Perry.
Oak Knoll series and Deer Lake series both by Tami Hoag and Scotland Yard’s Murder Squad series by Alex Grecian
I love Tami Hoag! ? I will definitely check out those series’
Oh! And Cemetery of Forgotten Books series by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
I love The Woman in White by Willie Collins.
Thanks, I’ll look into it ?
I really enjoyed We Were Liars by E. Lockhart if you haven’t read it yet.
Oooo this one sounds really good!! Lol
@Myndi, I cannot thank you enough for recommending We Were Liars!! I bought it today and love it already. Everyone is talking about it!
You’re very welcome! It was chosen for my Book Club awhile back and I probably wouldn’t have picked it up otherwise, but I ended up LOVING it!
Sounds like we both got lucky! Lol My friend and I went to B&N together today and she wound up buying it, too!
I hope you both love it!
Thanks so much! ?
Anything by Kate Morton!

Thanks again, @Mary!
Brother Cadfel series is terrific.
Thank you, @Debra. Maureen Jennings books are available through Amazon. Looks like some good choices!
She blends so many bits of fact and trivia seamlessly into the plots that you really feel you are living in Toronto at that time. So good!
