I’m a huge Stephen King fan and can recommend several of those. But if you’re looking for one that is a little less we’ll know, try The Elementals by Michael McDowell. Super scary!

The Mayfair witches by Anne Rice, pretty much anything by Jeremy Robinson, Future Remains by Robert Jack, primordia by Grieg Beck, also look at Douglas Preston’s individual novels. There’s more but I’ll have to look for some titles! Hope that helps.

@Lisha thanks! Lincoln Child’s individual titles too!

Can’t beat the classics. The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. Very well written, very scary. And after reading it, try the 1963 movie with Julie Harris, which I think is still the scariest I’ve ever seen.

Hell House by Richard Matheson. The Books of Blood Series by Clive Barker has some good, creepy stories if you like short stories

Well, what do you know? I’d dismissed it as a sappy romance or “heartwarmer” based on the title, and never looked into it!
