I liked it, I found it a little anticlimactic but it was still a good read

Especially loved it because it’s about 25 minutes away from where I live and some of the places the author mentioned I have been to. Surprisingly enough, my daughter and her husband just bought a home in Shaker Heights! Thanks to this book, I knew a bit about its history. I did enjoy the plot, too.

@Jeanne also liked info about Shakers as I had just visited Shaker Village in New Hampshire !

I really liked the story. I however found the writing to be a bit all over the place which I found hard to follow, that being said I think it added to the energy of the book

I didn’t like it. For me the whole story and characters where shallow and it was really, really hard to believe in the events. Many part felt very forced.

My book club loved it but I’m afraid I didn’t. The characters didn’t feel three dimensional to me. I just didn’t engage with this one.

I started reading it because I liked her other book, but it’s not impressing me. I put it in my Spreeder and it’s made it much easier to get through, but at the halfway mark, I could take it or leave it, tbh.

At first I thought it was for young adults but then two ethical questions arose and I totally enjoyed the debate I had with myself. I loved it.

@Megan just read your review and totally agree. I had gotten so into the beginning and then just had to get through the last half.

Easy read. A little disappointed that it didn’t have one more chapter to tie it up.

It left me slightly underwhelmed. I had expected more, and I couldn‘t really relate to any of the chars. Also, I found it overly constructed.
