I’ll start: I love the Penumbra Podcast but I don’t hear a lot of other people talking about it. I also really love the Laurie R. King “Mary Russel” book series that I think a lot of other people would enjoy!
Check out the VideoPalace podcast if you like horror. It’s so good!
Crime Junkie
My Favorite Murder, it’s a podcast!
This is like the most popular podcast lol. Is there an episode to start with
MFM is super popular in the forums I see but have you all heard of Small Town Dicks? I like that true crime podcast a lot!
@Amber it is pretty popular. ? didn’t realize we weren’t doing not so popular ones, I need to read things fully ? as for an episode, all of them are amazing. I really liked the Ted by day one, I believe it was a live show. I think if you just search my Favorite Murder Ted bundy it should come up
@Staci I’ll try that one. I keep trying but feel they’re too chatty
@Amber haha, that’s why I love them ?
@Amber you can also fast forward to the murder chat, which is what I do sometimes
@Staci I love that podcast!
Horror readers- check out The Descent by Jeff Long. Amazing.
@Lynn is this what the movie was based on?
@Kara yes! But its so different.
@Lynn better?
Voyage to the stars podcast
The Nosleep Podcast
Fangasm for funny “sexual” readings – I’ve cried of laughter so many times listening to this one
Tash Hearts Tolstoy. It’s a book from a known publisher but nobody talks about it
The Chrestomanci Series by Diana Wynne Jones. I haven’t met many people who know it.
Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me Series. I rarely see people recommending it nor do anybody knows her books exist! ?
Feyland by Anthea Sharp is a Tam Lin retelling in video games. I love it!!
1888 – The Ripper Files. It’s a fun fantasy that involves the “real” story behind Jack the Ripper. Not the best book, but I really enjoy it.
I never see any mention of Shana Abe’s work. She is an amazing author. Same with AG Riddle. I love his work.
My friend and I have a bookish podcast called Library Overload!! My favorite lesser known book is Teasing Secrets from the Dead by Emily Craig. She’s a forensic anthropologist so she helps to identify bodies and how they died by just their bones. Weird? Yes. But also awesome.
Kimetsu no Yaiba and Sket Dance are both the best manga I’ve read. They’re also super unknown.
Johannes Cabal series by Jonathan L. Howard. Gothic horror dark comedy dry humor.
George Mann’s Newberry & Hobbs steampunk detective series.
I absolutely love the Johannes Cabal series.
Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness. I read it last year and am now absolutely obsessed with the series and with Patrick Ness’s writing and I rarely, if ever, see mention of the books anywhere. I’m hoping that the movie might bring the books to the forefront.
The Themis Files trilogy by Sylvain Neuvel.
Following!
The Woodlands series by Lauren Nicolle Taylor
The Meratis trilogy or the Invisible Entente series by Krista Walsh. (y) (y) (y)
Black Butler

My favorite murder is a good podcast! I’ve been listening to it nonstop for the past 2 weeks
And That’s Why We Drink! A paranormal and true crime podcast!!
I read Hellsing Ultimate every once in a while
David Lindsay’s A Voyage to Arcturus. It’s my favourite book but I don’t know many people who’ve read it.
The Magicians by Lev Grossman.
