I don’t think that I have ever been scared by a book. I really like Meat from the Leeds author, Michael Bray.

The book terrified me. Even scarier than the film if that’s at all possible!

1
Lynda

@Judith yes because portraying those things on the screen can make them look ridiculous but the mind works it’s own tricks

1
Judith

Absolutely!

Danial

1

Christine by Stephen king freaked me out for years! I think I read it when I was 8 and it scared the pants off me. The only book in adulthood I can recall is the craftsmen by Sharon Bolton. I was reading it in the dark in an empty house and had to stop a couple of times cos it was CREEPY

Gerry O’Donnell I’ve not read the book but I did go to see the film when I was a teenager. I remember waiting in the queue to enter the cinema and staff passed out letters to us warning those of a nervous disposition . Terrified me!

0
Gerry

From memory there were two ‘jump’ moments, the homeless man in the subway when the train comes and the phone ringing when the priest is trying to decipher the recording. Both Sound innocuous, but you had to be there…and be a teenager ?

1
SusanQuestion author

@Gerry the head turning and vomiting certainly made me jump!

0
Gerry

That was normal teenage behaviour Susan ?
