I have a Kobo and like it. I would probably go with Kindle though because they usually have a lot of good deals.

While I love my Kindle, I’m currently addicted to my Kobo! I’d be worried about the longevity of the Nook (and B&N, to be frank).

Ooohhh. Good point

Just as a size comparison. The Kobo Aura One is roughly the same size as an iPad mini. It automatically hooks to local library (Kobo owns Overdrive) so borrowing books is a lot like shopping on the Kindle. They also price match, so any “deal” Amazon offers, they will usually have as well. Just FYI. 😉

I use the Kindle, Kobo, Nook and other reading apps on my phone. I do have a Samsung tablet I read on sometimes.

Which do you like best

I use Kindle a bit more. I review books for different companies for a living (well a bit of it) and different companies use different reading apps. I recently wanted Dean Koontz’s newest book. It was $5 cheaper on Kobo. So I bought it on there. I get emails from Bookbub and other companies on cheap and free books. I read a lot! So I double check prices on several sites. Different sites have different books free or cheap.

I started out with the first Nook that came out years ago and ended up on Kindle.

We have both..there are pros and cons to each. I find the nook a little more user friendly. But Amazon has better deals on e-books overall.

A 7″ tablet makes a nice ereader, with the Kindle app (probably an app for Nook as well) and it can do many other things in addition.

I have nooks.
My first one I gave to my brother when my son wasn’t using the glow nook I got him (I had just a plain simple Nook).
I dropped it and ruined it and bought the latest NOOK and I’m very happy with it.
Although I do not like the covers they have a Barnes & Noble I bought mine on Amazon.
I also have a NOOK HD.
I prefer a reading on that one because it’s bigger but I carry the little nook with me everywhere I go.
But I will say the Kindle you get more book options.
I have people suggest books to me in Barnes & Noble don’t have them, but Amazon does.
I suggest if you’re able go to Barnes & Noble and play with their next they have and talk to customer service about them.
Then if you’re able to go somewhere where they sell kindles do the same thing and make your own choice on what you think you would like.

Kindles are great. Had a Kobo a few years ago which was crap, unresponsive screen and keep freezing. I went back to Kindle and never looked back.

I like Nook for it’s organization(My shelves), but Kindle gets LOADS of free books, and the ones you pay for are usually cheaper as well. Needless to say, I utilize both apps on my phone.

I don’t have either. I use my laptop. Both Kindle and Nook let you download a free version to the laptop, then I can decide book by book which I want.

I have a Nook but most of my books are on the Kindle app. I don’t know if you can load the Nook app on a Kindle. Last I knew you couldn’t.

I had an original Nook, and then a Nook tablet. I loved it, but then got an iPad. I was finding that it was hard to get Nook book support on my Apple products. Eventually they quit supporting them, I heard. I still have books on my Nook app, but purchase any new e-books for the Kindle app. So I would go with a Kindle.

I have a kindle paperwhite. There are no apps or games, just a straight ereader. There is no glare and the paperwhite version is easier on your eyes for sustained reading. I love mine!

Kindle, for ease of use and reasonably priced downloads. I have no experience with Nook.

I got a kindle probably five years ago, and I love it. It’s easy to find books that fit the format, and if I have a PDF I can easily get it on there without any problems. I’m an amazon junkie though, so I think that’s a contributing factor to my response.

I have Kindle app from Amazon and Nook app from B&N on my laptop. You can get free books or pay for books on either. I really don’t like either. I like holding a book in my hands. I get books from Amazon and B&N. Also, free/$1 used books from the library. Goodwill, Salvation Army, Habitat Rehouse stores (10 cents to $3.00 for paperback to hardback) and garage/yard sales. I don’t go clubbing (too old at 67☺), smoke, drink, gamble, buy shoes/clothes I don’t need because I’m retired (I dress comy and clean). So I buy books. If I see a book or 4 I want, then I buy, as long as bills are paid, gas in car and food in house. Life us too short not to do what you love. And I love reading and books. Good luck in your choice. ☺☺

Kindle. I have a paperwhite and a fire. Love them. Tried a nook but not enough choices. I love books. My house is full of them. But my kindle has over 4000 books, most free or less than$2 that i don’t have to find room for them.
