Funny you mention this. I finished reading The Stand by Stephen King and decided to check out the movie. I have never been more impressed with a movie that follows the book. There were a couple tweaks, but very minor. For the most part even the dialogue was the same!!

@Ayla I really enjoyed it. I just finished this a few days ago and already miss some of the characters.

To Kill A Mockingbird, The Outsiders, The Giver, A Series of Unfortunate Events (made into a TV series with NPH as Olaf), City Of Bones, Fallen, Before I Fall, Harry Potter, The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. And probably many many more that I can’t think of right now.

Angela’s Ashes was spot on but depressing. It’s a great book and a great movie. Just a lot of poverty and sadness. It turns out ok I’m pretty sure. No spoilers bc I haven’t seen it in years so I don’t remember much ?

The green mile❤️ although I didn’t imagine paul edgecombe as Tom hanks when I heard that’s who was playing him, I felt he totally did the character justice. And John coffee was the most perfect casting I’ve ever seen❤️in fact all the actors did an amazing job!
Pity davinci code wasn’t the same, I loved the book but none of the characters suited the actors (or vice versa) Tom hanks will never be Robert Langdon for me!

I have never ever watched a film that was better than a book. The characters I visualize are never right in the movie, so I am always disappointed. For example, I never thought Jack Teacher was Tom Cruise, height aside he just wasn’t Jack.

The 1989 version of The Woman In Black. Definitely *not* the Daniel Radcliffe one.

The book was good but the twist in the telemovie (which couldn’t be done in the book because of its narrative structure) made it a real stand out.
