Sometimes I don’t find anything. I am always suspicious of new comers from unknown authors

What does it cost you to try? Just curious.

Elvia

I don’t like YA. And I am a boring kind. It’s me, you know. So I stuck to some authors and find a lot of difficulties to choose a new one

Go for the gusto, be courageous, try a new adventure. take the leap, try anything, it is all free (library right?) You may find a whole new world out there, if it is free and isn’t a huge deal to get there and you are able to NOT HAVE to finish a book you don’t like, try an audio, not much in life is free use it, abuse it. just my humble opinion, lol

@Nettie hahahah tried dear. Didn’t work for me. As older as boring I become ?

I applaud your self-discipline. Even when I go in to return books, swearing that I won’t even glance in the direction of the shelves (on another floor), I somehow always manage to come out with books.

I’m on the bus to the library today in San Antonio!

I wouldn’t be able to do it! Even if I’m “just going to return something” I get sucked in looking at the “new” section and the staff picks.

I do that often simply because my library is a small off branch of many branches so the don’t have a great selection. I request books from the other branches to put on hold and sent to my branch.

I should say that I am currently reading Still Life by Louise Penny and listening to Two by Two from Nicholas Sparks. I am on vacation the first week in October and was trying to put a pile together for my down time.

My local library does not have the largest selection and often the books I want are out. This is frustrating, especially when I am down to my b or c list of authors. I have lists, Man Booker, PEN Faulkner, The Great American Read, Good Reads, …. , about 300 hundred books and authors. Still there are times when I just can not find what I want and settle on one of my go to authors that are well represented in my library. Wish me luck on Monday when I look for a new book.

No this could not be. How do you feel? Books are a drug. You didn’t get your fix.

Our new book shelf is downstairs and fiction is up stairs so I often leave without a print book because I look at the new additions. I must admit I mainly read ebooks so this doesn’t mean a lot!

Are you OK?? Did someone force you out?? Those are the only things I can think of l that would keep one from bringing home the legal maximum!

Before inter library loan, when you spent an hour looking at books never knowing if you would get some or not. Now every time I go to library there are books waiting for me. I never go into the aisles anymore
