Such a great read! I love books that aren’t always happy or cheery but speak people’s truth and that’s exactly what this book does! It’s inspirational and unforgettable. ??
I didn’t believe most of it and I don’t enjoy books about treating children badly. Didn’t believe the ending at all, that was made up for Hollywood.
Even though I liked the book I’m not really sure I believed much of it either. But I did enjoy reading it. I enjoyed the story she told ?
I watched the movie last night (I read the book quite awhile ago), and thought the movie was very good too.
Really liked it. One of the few times I reread a book. Stood up to a second reading when I was in a very different frame of mind than the first time
Sadly, it is True. I went to school in the Appalacian area. The folks there are so poor that we can’t even imagine. WV area also.
