That depends on who you are and what you think of its disability politics.
The prose is good. The subject and certain of the things about the story leave me furious, as a full-time wheelchair user younger and a lot less privileged than the male lead. It has a lot of problematic ideas in it. But if you don’t know anyone who has an incurable disabling condition or is paralysed, you’ll probably enjoy it because you may not even realise the problems are there or what they are, or why they’re problematic. It bothers me that it spreads ideas about disability, disabled people and paraplegia that could lead to serious problems for our community, frankly, but if you don’t have to think about any of that you may well enjoy it.
I loved loved loved it! My brother, whilst very different situation, was a paraplegic so some parts made me very emotional as it stirred up memories. But I loved the storytelling. I hope you enjoy it ?
