I really struggled and almost gave up as got very bored. You must keep going! It gets much better and becomes a more gripping read. Although I did expect more from the ending it made me blubber on the train. Definitely one that stays with you

Excellent book, the beginning is heart rendering and intense.. though well worth continuing with as it truly is a beautifully written and well thought out story

It took me a while to get into the mind set for how it is written but I loved it, sort of unexpectedly. Cried like a baby. Haven’t seen the film and am afraid to as not sure how well the concept would translate into film…In the end the way it is written was what I thought made it special x

Not finished it yet. I find the writing style incredibly intriguing. Amazing turn of phrase. I haven’t seen the movie but I can’t help wondering how well the book translated into a movie as I think most of the appeal is in the writing rather than the story.

I don’t get how people think it’s heavy going. l found it an easy read. It’s narrated by death so has to be read through that perspective. Keep going, it is a fab book.
