You need to grab your self a box of tissues ! I remember it was useful for both, movie and the book ! Started reading the 2nd book, now that I recall I didn’t finished it. ??♀️ So better get back to it. ?
This one is great and the film is a good adaptation, I thought. I couldn’t get into the sequel, though. The characters were just too annoying for my taste. But thumbs up for the first book!
Loved the series! As sad as the story line is, I fell in love with Louisa & laughed out loud a lot <3 Still me is my favourite of the series. Happy Reading!
We read it in my book group. One of my friends has a congenital bone disorder and has always been a great source of insight from the perspective of someone living with disability. Most of us initially enjoyed the book—it’s a an easy read with a relatable heroine, what’s not to like, right? But the message that a life of disability—even with a deep love—isn’t worth living is pretty terrible when you think about it.
I’ve read the first two books in the series, and I loved both! I did make the mistake of reading them while on the bus, and ended up sobbing in public. So many tears! ?
It’s ableist as hell. I won’t go into spoilers, but, yeah. The main plot line is ableist and I think that kind of story could’ve been told/done a lot better.
Love Jojo’s books and especially this one! Hope you enjoy ?

In my TBR pile
Great books – have read 2 of them
This book was great! The movie had to omit a very important plot line. The second book, I felt didn’t stay true to the girl’s character.
Excellent read on a very controversial topic!
Good story.
Good movie too
I liked it a lot and I really enjoyed the movie also.

Have tissues, good book
