I loved it but I always do like her writing. Huge fan of Goon Squad too!

I loved her writing style and enjoyed how deftly she had us bouncing back and forth between characters and through time. I was also stuck by how each of the main characters hit a point in life when it appeared that one thing night change everything for her/him. And then, maybe not so much.

I’m sorry to say I found it boring. I liked her other books.

I read it, liked it, didn’t love it. I did like how it bounced between characters and their perspectives though

I started it and i quit. It was so slow and I only had it for 2 weeks from the library and couldn’t force myself to read it in time. Loved Goon Squad though.

I do want to discuss some issues I had with the ending. STOP READING IF YOU HATE SPOILERS OR BEING TIPPED OFF ABOUT BOOK ENDINGS. To me, it felt tacked on. I didn’t see anything in Anna’s makeup that made me think she would feel compelled to keep her baby.

I have to agree. It didn’t seem to fit with her character

Or that she would suddenly bond with her aunt.

Totally agree with all of this. The aunt was one of those characters that just pops up when needed.
Frankly, I was disappointed when she decided to keep the baby because it didn’t fit her character and because the boundaries-pushing storyline was going to come to an end.

I thought the book was overrated, however I think her experience with a disabled younger sister would lead her to eschew abortion and keep the baby

I got it for Christmas. I’ve read reviews indicating that it’s very different from her other novel(s), i.e., a more traditional narrative structure.
