It’s greatness has a lot to do with things that aren’t apparent on a casual read. The structure is intricate. There are free Kindle guides, but then reading the book can feel like work. I compare it to Ulysses in terms of accessibility. The footnotes are voluminous, but important. I’d read it casually, then do a deeper dive if I wanted to really appreciate why it’s worth the time.

100% yes. But you will work for it! Read the footnotes, don’t skip them. Mario Incandenza is my favorite. Also, don’t rush yourself. Give the book time. I read 60 pages a week as part of a buddy read. Happy reading! Side note: DFW really likes fancy words. I kept my dictionary by me to look up words I didn’t know. ?

There is no book more worthy of a read.

The audiobook is great as well. IJ is the only book I’d take the time to read more than once.

It’s infinite.
The book is very complex, and can be difficult in places. But it is well worth reading. Ulysses is a good comparison. David Foster Wallace’s writing style changed modern literature.

Just don’t give up early. Many people do. It doesn’t seem like a lot is going on in the beginning of novel.
