I am hoping that it is a diversion, that he wants to prove to the sea that he can be the wicked King they think he should be, and he sneaks to the mortal world to explain to Jude why he did what he did… why else would he ask her to marry him just to exhile her???

Jessica

@Jenn so he could talk her into freeing him from his oath! But we have to wait a whole year to find out.

He could’ve manipulated her a different way

Jessica

I think he was 100% wanting to make things work. But he found out Jude killed his brother AFTER he married her. He was mad for a good reason and probably just wanted her away from him for a while

The wording of the banishment was weird though. She can be “pardoned by the crown.” He doesn’t say “the king.” Jude is technically queen now. Can’t she just pardon herself? He told her she can give her own orders.

He may be trying to influence the whole situation in his favor, he just needs to make a few drastic moves and unfortunately, she was in the line of fire

That’s my theory. You always need to pay attention to the wording of things when dealing with faeries.

2
Allison

I’m hoping he did it to protect her from their enemies!

2
Paloma

@Allison, that’s what I told a friend. Like when he tried to get her to go back home before she was crowned Queen of Mirth. She didn’t listen and so this time around he wants her away and made it happen. Low key also have a theory that she is going to have a crown made by that blacksmith dude.

Melissa

@Allison I agree! I think he did it to protect her

Also we have to ponder the title of the next book!!

JennQuestion author

It’s definitely going to be good!

Skyler

@Jenn I haven’t figured out what I think it means yet! ?

JennQuestion author

What what means?

0
Skyler

@Jenn the title of the next book!

0
Paloma

@Skyler, I think two things. One it literally means nothing. Cuz rn she’s not really a queen of anything. Or two, it refers to her being human. In the first book, humans were described as nothing cuz they can’t compare to faeries/they die.

Is there leak to what it’s going to be?

Skyler

@Paloma I’ve seen those theories also! I just cant decide what I’m leaning towards.. I feel like it could be something else too. I’m kinda nervous, like, Holly: what are you going to do to our hearts next?! haha!

1
Skyler

@Jenn Holly has already released the title!

0
Paloma

Could be a mix of both. I hope the last book is a little longer. To me, it feels like there’s there to be a lot of stuff going on and I don’t want the explanations/story to be too simple. It’ll be so disappointing.

Yep, the title has been out for about over a year now. I think that titles of the books were set pretty early on cuz I remember after reading TCP and I added TWK to my tbr, the third book already had a name.

JennQuestion author

I had literally just came across TCP a month ago and bought it from all the hype

@Paloma yup!! Totally agree. Also I honestly think a fourth book would be amazing too.. the world she’s built deserves more than 3 books IMO!

0
Skyler

I need more romance scenes too.. Hahahah

@Skyler – I think she has other books set in that world. I haven’t read them yet. I only know because of the extra chapter in the first book had a character from her other books. Idk if I would want a fourth. A lot of authors end up writing extras books just cuz they do well and the writing/story deteriorates.

@Jenn – At least you didn’t have to wait very long to read the second book. I have a friend who was able to get her hands on an ARC and kept on saying how she wishes I could have read it. (I told her I didn’t want to be spoiled. I didn’t want her telling me anything about the second book.)

Paloma

Oh, and I sort of wish the same. I don’t expect them to fall completely and hopelessly in love with each other since they did kind of hate one another in the first book. I want them to able to be develop a stronger trusting bond.

Skyler

@Paloma I love their weird dynamic!!

We all know we are going to have to wait forever for the next book too 🙁
This leaves so much for me to wait for because if I’m guessing right, the sequel will be out sometime after I get back from deployment.

I also want to know why her sister dressed like her and pretended to be her

It was explained in the book. She pretended to be Jude so she could get an OK from Cardan to let Madoc do what he wants and have an army.

Melissa

@Paloma thank you! I was probably so upset by the banishment that I missed that

1
Paloma

No worries! I was so caught up when reading about The Ghost betraying her that for some reason my mind thought it was The Roach. I was so confused later on when The Roach was defending Cardan against her, lmao.

1
Skyler

@Melissa That made me so mad! Did anyone else hate her sister?! Lol

0
Melissa

@Skyler I hated her even more after reading the novella

1
Paloma

@Melissa – I was hoping that Taryn had a real reason for betraying her sister. I thought she could have even been doing it to protect Jude it some way. While I do hate her, I’m more disappointed in her.

0
Melissa

@Paloma I agree; especially since they are twins

1
Melissa

There is a novella that is from her sisters side of the story. I’m hopping there will be a novella from Cardan’s point of view
