@Ella , the series is not the same, the charcters have the same names, but in the book they are not related and didn’t grow up in the house

Ella Terrance The book is great, very intense. The author is Shirley Jackson (who Shirley in the series is named for) and was a finalist for the National Book Award and is considered one of the best literary ghost stories published in the 20th century

I thought it was good, but Shirley Jackson’s other book, We Have Always Lived in the Castle is phenomenal.

Haven’t read the book, but I recently binge watched the series on Netflix. Not my usual genre, but I adore me some good characters, and I found the family captivating.

@Lisa The book is very different, the characters are not related, just have the same names as in the series
