Really enjoyed it! Having a hard time finding something equally enjoyable. Accessible, well written, and a great uplifting, hopeful story.

I liked it as well! It held my interest and I liked the characters and the story. I just felt that it lacked some depth in the character development department. I really want to know what happened to Maya.

I can’t read heavy, sad things all the time so this was a nice change of pace. I liked it a lot!

That’s true, my eyes did fill, but it didn’t dwell. Good points!

All of your wonderful thoughts have made me think harder about this book. I really did like it, but there were just a few loose ends. I need to think harder about it.

Why do you say that? I’m so torn about this book. I liked it but found it lacking.

I expected more, but it lagged in the second half. Some of it was charming and compelling, just not enough.

Valerie Huels I agree. There was something missing for me. It was almost too fast.

I’d be curious as to why you weren’t. I wasn’t either. I liked it but didn’t love it.

@Emily i liked it, who doesn’t like a book about books? I thought all the deaths were unnecessary. Some were pivotal, but I felt there could have been more character development/growth.

The best thing I got out of that book was a reading list of better books to read. IE: He recommends the Book Thief to a client. I read that next and it was stellar.

Me, too! I’m a short story lover, as A.J. was, so I particularly highlighted the short stories he recommended that I hadn’t read yet.
