I’ve read the first 4 of the series and they are not too bad but there seems to be an element of the supernatural creeping in to solve a case. I will try the next one though.

I’m on no 5 and as David says there are lots of supernatural stuff that seems to solve the cases, but they are decent reads

Yes, they’re great. I listen to the audio versions, any excuse to hear an Edinburgh accent! They’re unusual stories, police procedural with a subtle dash of the supernatural.

Yes they are great, but you should read them in the right order.

Always best to read books in order. I’ve just downloaded one and made a start but find that it’s the latest in a series of a dozen or so. Leaving me with the problem of do I read it now or get the first and start on that. Given the size of my TBR list a note to catch up will have to do. One nice thing about Kindle books is that you can bookmark pages and leave remarks. Remembering all those Discworld novels with there hundreds! of footnotes, and of course all those non-fiction books that have them, is that such footnotes can be popped up, read, then return you to where you were. A great advantage in the technology of writing..?
