(I ♡ thrillers)
If you like good thriller, mistery and some actions,James Patterson is no.1!Everytime when i read his book i feel exited???
what are your favorites?
“Run for your life”,”Lifeguard”?
Highly recommended:). He has a ton of books and the few I’ve read have been hard to put down. Sail is one of them
I like his books, I find the Alex Cross books are the best ?
Do you have to read this series in order to continue a storyline or are they stand alone novels with just the same lead character? I don’t want to read them out of order lol
One of my favorites
Favorites?
I’ve read a few of his women’s murder club series and they are great. A must read
They are easy to read and interesting, so hard to put down. 🙂
Favorite
Murder house was pretty good, though I thought the main character was a bit of a sook given they were meant to be a cop. Otherwise Alex Cross series.
Alex Cross no more words needed ?
The quickie was my fave and it’s a stand alone
I’ve only read the first three books of the Women’s Murder club series but those were pretty good.
He’s my favorite. And his books are highly recommended ?
Favorite?
favorite writer ?
No what is your favourite book?
I’ve only ever read Alex Cross and those were good. I don’t think he is the best writer ever but he has really entertaining novels and they are easy to get through. I imagine one of the appeals of his novels is that they are quick entertaining reads. So, if you are someone with a busy schedule these novels are unlikely to bog you down. Definitely worth trying but I understand why there are people that don’t like him.
I love his writing. It flows. He keeps you guessing. No character is sacred. Anyone can get bumped off. I also love the short chapters for when I’m on the go.
The quickie is my favorite read by him so far, I didn’t see the ending coming, at all ??????
Me either ???great book
He’s a master of short, quick chapters
In one of his books, there was a scene about a little boy being raped. Still can’t get it out of my mind, and I refuse to pick up anything else by him. I don’t even remember what book it was.
Omg
I would like to know what book that was so I can also avoid it.
@Joan I wish I could remember too!
Kiss the girls is my favourite book of James Patterson. Him at his best! Also like the murder club series.
love his thriller books: Alex Cross, Michael Bennett, Women’s murder club, etc. I admit that I dont read his other books, though
All are good. But be prepared for no sleep.
If you like books written by a team of writers and then have his name stamped on them, go ahead. He rarely writes his own books anymore. He is just paid to let the publishers use his name.
Yes, I agree. His newer books are still good, just more generic and the older ones are better (to me).
I absolutely love him! His older books are better imo. As multiple people said, The Quickie was excellent!
Close your eyes and pick one.
Read maximum ride
Postcard murders
I love the Alex Cross, Women’s Murder Club, and Maximum Ride series. “His” books are everywhere. (I understand that he has a “writing stable” and “co-authors” most of his books.)
All great
I love all his series
Wonderful
Love them all….
The Alex Cross series is really good
@Dan
I only really love the ones that are solely written by him. The collaborated ones are not as good to me.
Women’s Murder Club series. They are great! You do have to read them in order and there are 16 books. I am behind by the last 2 books.
Swimsuit was one of my all time favorites. But I read everything by him.
Honeymoon. Everyone in my office read it, men and women, and all of us read it within 3 days’ time. Some of us were reading it while stirring things we were cooking on the stove!
I like his older ones best. Now he is combining with other authors. His books are fast-moving action/murder mysteries, with great cop heroes. Chapters are short, and you keep reading-you can finish in one or two days. He gives psychological insight into the criminal mind.
Fairly good – he often cowrites with unknown authors. Easy quick enjoyable reads.
That’s what I like, he is an easy read. Short chapters which for whatever reason makes a better read for me☺The Women’s Murder Club books are pretty good, although I think they are up to 17 or 18 in the series?
I’ve only read Murder House but I LOVED it!!!
Patterson knows how to keep the reader in suspense. You will love his books Jennifer! I have read all of his Alex Cross series. Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue, Along Came A Spider and more!
Zoo, Cradle & All, Crazy House, and Witch & Wizard
Thank you all so very much for taking the time to answer my questions and give your opinions
I envy you…you have so much great reading ahead of you. Thank goodness he’s written so many books and I still have more ahead of me. I would only suggest you start with the first Alex Cross book (check Fantastic Fiction site for guidance)
Thank you! I’ve got a tbr list so long ill never get through it but im sure going to try
I liked his earlier books as well.
Many of his books are co-written with an aspiring novelist; I really appreciate his willingness to allow his name to be allied with a novice. And after these books are published, they can be listed on the associate’s resume.
I’m thinking about reading his latest. Read a sample, still on the fence. Has anyone read his latest??
These are my James Patterson shelves. I’m still working my way through them. Those that I have read have been good.
Wow!
You should show this off on shelfie Saturday, it’s impressive 🙂
Alex Cross series
Alex Cross
I like just about everything I’ve read by James Patterson . The Women’s Murder Club series and the Michael Bennett series are probably my 2 favorite series by him . Alex Cross series is good , too. One of my all time favorite books by him is Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas . There’s no doubt that you will find many books by him that you will enjoy .
I’ve been avoiding him like the plague, mainly because I have a bit of a ‘series obsession’ meaning I struggle to leave a series until I’ve read them all. With the amount he’s written I may never get to another author in my lifetime ?
So true!
His early writing was great but some of his collaborations I found aren’t as good. His Women’s Murder Club is a fantastic series but I did find book 15 a little disappointing at the end. I would recommend that you read the postcard killers, that was a great book which I read in two days, I was off work with a bad back at the time so I had time on my hands.
Cross series ?
He,s a great one, you can find his books on Google, it,s easy, i almost read all of his work.
Btw the Alex Cross series are just great. like Leon Krige said. I think you have to find these books.
I’ve only read Zoo and it was ok
Don’t judge him by Zoo. He does have some books that I could’ve have skipped but overall, he’s the best
I love his books. Or at least the ones that I have read from him.
Read one, read them all. But that first one is good.
I’m a librarian. He’s very popular in our little library. I used to read the Alex Cross series but got tired of them. It annoys me that he has a book coming out every month. They have 3 page chapters, you can easily read one in a day. I think that is part of his appeal. They are entertaing but no real substance, forgettable the day after you have read it and very few people want to tackle a 400 or 500 page book anymore. Just my opinion. Lots of readers love him.
Totally agree!
If you’re looking for great mysteries, try William Kent Kruger’s “Cork” series. I have had 2 or 3 people reading the series at once and complaining that people are not reading them fast enough
When the wind blows!
I agree with Barbara Campbell. They are enjoyable but lightweight. But some people don’t want an intense story.
Light is good Between intense books
Alex Cross yesssss!!!
Alex cross or the women’s murder club all his books are pretty good
I call his type of books brain candy, and I enjoy candy, but not all the time ?
Agreed.
I enjoy James Patterson. He writes a few different genres, too. Zoo is one of my favorites. I think I liked the graphic novel version a little better, though. (The novel, graphic novel, and TV show are all just slightly different.)
Try the Alex Cross series. I enjoy that, as well.
