I did. Wasn’t impressed. The first half was great, the second half was completely boring and unrealistic.

@Sarah o strongly concur with the apt description you provided of the book

While I liked the book, there is a almost a shift in genres between the first and second halves…I preferred the first half.

@Connie what two genres would you say they were?

1
Connie

@Marissa good question. The first part – literary novel. Second part – international suspense thriller. I’d welcome other comments, though, since it’s been a while since I read it.

I liked it a lot until I read one of her earlier works: The Secret History. It was tops. Still can’t get it out of my mind.

@Darlene I couldn’t even finish it. Just couldn’t get invested enough in the story or characters.

1
Darlene

@Lopa exactly how I felt. It seemed as though it would never end. I’m one of those who forces myself to finish a book even if I don’t like it but I almost gave up halfway through. We are in the minority though. So many people love it. To each his own!
