It’s okay if you like YA but there is a lot of filler information that feels unimportant to the storyline so parts of it drag. In my opinion it’s not that well written.
I’m personally not the biggest fan. I don’t like the writing and the story isn’t my favorite. However, I know there are people who really enjoy the books.
I read them almost 10 years ago but they have stuck with me. That series actually brought me back in the world of reading. (I hadn’t read a book in about 3 years before I picked those up ?… I know, blasphemy.
Some people say the writing was horrible, but I enjoyed them. I loved the books.
No. Repeated descriptions over and over (marble skin is repeated over and over). The relationship between the main characters was not healthy and shouldn’t be an example that should be read by it’s younger target audience. My favorite of the books was the second when Bella was depressed for most of the book. It actually felt like she had an identity, bite, and interest. I think it was the lack of an individual personality in Bella that drove me the most batty through the whole series. She had no identity and wanted to get married and become a vampire without finding who she was first. So if you’re willing to deal with a young and dumb character for 4 books…have fun. (I read the first out of curiosity, 2nd on a dare, 3rd I lost a bet, and 4th to complete a reading competition.)
The idea is fantastic. I just really didn’t like the main characters. I thought they were unhealthy for each other. If it was redone with slightly more mature characters and slightly better writing this series is right up my alley of paranormal. The world building is pretty good and supporting characters fabulous.
actually… Bella didn’t want to be married, it took about a book or two for what’s-his-name to convince her, and only as a condition to make her inmortal ?
I read them. I think if you keep your expectations low they’re good. They don’t have a lot of substance make-you-think while reading. They’re different
Yes! Can’t explain why, it just is. Lol I stared the first book after the 2nd movie was out, and I was hooked! I tried to read slow enough, the last book would come out before I got to it, but I also couldn’t get enough! When the last book came out, I read it in 2 days, didn’t sleep, and I had a toddler! ? I have since lost my books, but they will be gotten again, when my daughter is ready to read them.
I have high expectations. ? I love fast-paced and page turner books. I hate books with repetitive descriptions and redundant sentences. I also love awesome battle scenes and hate cliche love stories. Would I love it?
It’s a hard one. At the time I loved it, it’s just now I can’t bring myself to read the series again. I read it through four times, own all the movies which I’ve watched once each. I had more merch than you could shake a stick at but I just can’t stand it now ? my 13yo tried to read it last year and got about halfway through book one and gave up. I wouldn’t say it’s a page turned or fast paced until almost the very end of each book.
It depends on what you’re looking for. If you want to read a shallow YA with a love triangle and okay writing, go for it. It definitely kept me interested. You just have to read it for what it is
I read the series when I was 13/14. Honestly I liked the story line but the writing was lacking. Not very descriptive and not a lot of character development imo. I don’t regret reading them but I never fell in love with it. I give them a 6/10 lol.
As deep as a bowl of oatmeal. Teen vampire who has lived for hundreds of years who, instead of doing anything beneficial with his life, perpetually goes to high school and hits on 16-17 year olds. Twilight.
To be fair, I banged them out over the course of a week on deployment when I was 20. So, if you have a lot of free time and literally nothing else to read or do, they’re great.
You will get heated opinions on both sides of this question. When it first came out, the whole concept was unique (good vampires, what?). It was an interesting read and I enjoyed it. I don’t think it translated well to the big screen, but my husband really liked the movies…so, even in my own house it’s a divided question. Honestly, the writing could be better and the main character is a little flat. As a writer, I can see the frustration others have with the series, but I’d give my left arm to write something so successful. Meyers obviously did something right. And, it is still an entertaining read. I mean, there IS a reason it became so popular after all. Right?
Well she acted that way because thats how bella is in the books. Stephanie admitted to forgetting tonwrite a lot of bellas reactions. If you see the actress in other movies shes actually very good. But youll notice she plays a depressed teenager verybwell.
Also yes and no to the good vampires beong unique, Angel was before Twilight and it was five seasons centered around a giod vampire. The book series and tv show Vampire Diaries, Queen kf the Damned. Having a good Vampire story is only unique in how its portrayed where the line is. Good vampire stories were a big hit throughout the entirety of my child hood up to my teen years.
Very true. I won’t argue with you there. I totally forgot about Angel. I loved watching that show. Twilight had unusual elements, if not entirely unique (except the glittering in the daytime, pretty sure that was unique). It played to the teen crowd really well (and those who wished they were teens…I may have been one of those, as a new mom pining over lost freedom).
Except I disagree about the actress that played Bella. I don’t like Kristin in any movie she’s been in. Perhaps I’m not giving her a fair shake. And I’ll admit that.
I haven’t read any Twilight books since they first came out. My reading tastes have changed a lot since then (that was over ten years ago, I think). But I do know, I did enjoy it when it first came out. The first and last book anyway. The second book was hard to get through.
This series proves that there are people that will love something, while others hate it. Readers aren’t all the same. They have different tastes. Thank goodness. I couldn’t hope to write exactly like someone else.
It was an okay series. I read them just to see what the hype was about. But, the second book just dragged – you may want to kill the main character for being so whiny.
I dislike teenagers and their high school drama, then throw in the love story, so many eye rolls.. Just wasn’t for me. I read the first book to get the author’s take on vampires since vampires and their lore have fascinated me since I was young, but again, not to my liking, though it was interesting. The writing was okay, at best, in my opinion.
@Julienne I guess it means that it has things like kissing and…etc But twilight had only kisses But Meyer made it look hot by the way she expressed it But the series is awesome !!+
@Sama Nothing wrong. In fact quite good but it may not be your book if you find the characters in the book a little bit too perfectly good-looking, too rich, too in love like I do. I think it’s good for teenage boys or girls who fancy dramatic love stories.
I loved them. Very teeny romance but it is a good story and an easy read. I think some people who say they hate it are just embarrassed to say they like it as for some reason it has that reputation.
I read the novels when I was 35, and just finished the last one in the series a few months ago. I found them to be entertaining, relatively well written, and fun. The plot was easy to follow, but contained enough twists and surprises to keep me wanting to turn the pages. The characters were well thought out and did not come across as two-dimensional idiots.
Read one and you’ve read them all. I found the plot predictable and the writing sophomoric. If I had to hear one more time how perfect the main male character was, I was going to poke my ears out (I was stuck in a car with only one book on audio). However…my good friend read them and loved them all, even did a Twilight trip with her nieces.
They are easy and quick reads. I liked them, and obviously they were a massive hit. The writing was repetitive at times, and I wouldn’t call them page turners but they were definitely easy to read.
A lot of people enjoyed the books and some didnt. My whole family loves the series and tried to get me to read it. Honestly the plot itself is awesome and intrigueing. I wasnt a fan of the vampires sparkling, but I did appreciate how she dkd her research with the Werewolves, how there are several sub categories and she dived into the Shapeshifters. I didnt care for the grammar, even she admits her grammar in the novels can be pretty bad at times because she never got it proof read. There are a lot of character holes, sudden physical appearance changes, several back stories for one character and then there is how multiple characters sound the same and the main character is constantly emotionless, very rarely showing any. There are a few plot holes as well. Honestly if she had put more effort into the books I feel like they would have been a great series. Nut personally, no. I dont like them and i dont think it is worth it to read them.
I read it when it came out. All of them. I was pregnant with my first born and honestly….. I enjoyed them. Not the best books ever.. but not horrible. If you’re into vampire romance I recommend the black dagger brotherhood by JR Ward. Far superior! And adult.
I really liked the BDB but there is just toooo many of them lol I stopped at book 15 because they all started to be the same basic story principle over and over. Though I love her creativity and world building.
@Brandy yeah I’m so far behind lol… ********* there’s another book series that’s by Karen Marie Moning … looooooooove her romances. Darkfever series… so good. I recommend reading her romances before that series just so you know the back story & some small side story mentions. But you don’t have to..
I really loved the books. Effortless writing, the characters are easy to connect with and love, and the overall story was not too far fetched even for fantasy writing.
I re read the series recently and was surprised to find that the writing was…good. after all the negative hype from the movie I expected something terrible, but I enjoyed the read
My friend kept bugging me to read the first one “Twilight” i read about 10 chapters, tossed it back to him. Teen junk. Full of teen angst. I’d rather stick pins in my eyes.
I hated them… In my opinion it was nothing but teenage angst and terrible writing. Bella is a terrible character and the sparkling vampires is so stupid IMO. This ought to show you how terrible the writing is:
I got really frustrated with Bella. All that pining for a man, vampire or otherwise, was a bit nauseating. Before Stephenie Meyer became a THING, I read The Host and really liked it. I think Meyer does settings very well.
No. Terrible female lead, setting a very bad example for girls everywhere. I need to like at least a character in a book. I could go on for an age on these but then if you do read them I’d have ruined it.
^^in agreement with all of that. This was the only book series I wish I had never read. I only finished it at the insistence of “NOOOO, it gets soooo goood!” from a friend, that I no longer take recommendations from.
@Tiki that seems like a wise decision. I have a friend like that, after P. S I Love You (Chick Lit’s not my thing) and Cold Mountain (good but depressing) I gave up.
Isy, totally get it on the chick-lit, and I think that the Twilight series was really just chick-lit with religious overtones and overwhelming patriarchy. ??♀️ We always have the Reading Nook for recommendations!! Haha!
Reading them made me quite angry and upset, I can’t speak for anyone else. I felt that Bella was always doing herself down, constantly going on about how she didn’t deserve Edward because he was Just! So! Awesome! Girl needed some self-esteem to the point where if I knew her, I’d be saying she should consider counselling.
Yes!!! It made me love to read when I wasn’t into reading. Now I’m a book nut, I didn’t realize I just hadn’t found a genre that I loved and Twilight made me realize I love YA?
I’d say they are good books for if you want to to binge read for a day. For example, if you are sick in bed. The plot is not super intense, and every book has faults (one of the reasons why we love discussing books). I would try them out.
Read it for the supporting characters, who are more interesting and infinitely better than the two leads. I couldn’t care less about Bella and Edward, but I love the rest of the family. 🙂
I bought Twilight at Wal-Mart when I had a 12 hour bus trip and was gonna be bored. I like vampire stuff and who in their right mind writes a book based in Forks!? I was immediately intrigued because I’d been through Forks on my way to other places. There ain’t nothing there. It was a fun read and a great little escape. I love ’em. Are they Shakespeare? No, but sometimes he’s overrated. ?
Also, I enjoyed seeing Meyer’s writing style grow and progress throughout the whole series. The last book, in my opinion, is actually the best of the saga.
It was so much about the teen angst and romance but had untapped potential to be really great. There are some fantastic characters and storylines in the series, unfortunately, they just never play out like they should. I keep hoping for something new books about the culture or history. There is epicness to had there. Unfortunately, its author enjoys being trendy a bit too much to be a really great author.
If you are just looking for a fun vampire read, then its great. If you are looking for something a bit more, then don’t expect too much.
I read them bc my eldest daughter was into them. Average writing and silly teen trope but entertaining. My youngest – an avid NONreader- expressed interest in them after the first movie and I whole heartedly supported that – I’m all about any book that will get my kiddos reading.
I read all the twilight books while I was in highschool. I believe girls my age were the intended audience (despite many older women also enjoying it) and it felt like the book was built around teenage girl thinking. The pining for a man thing was something we could relate to and the fact that Bella was a ‘shell’ character made it easy for us imagine ourselves in her place. It was a good story for where I was in life then. Now I watch the movies occasionally, not because they are masterpieces, but because it makes me feel nostalgic.
I tried the first book but couldn’t get into it. The teenage mentality was a little frustrating to me and I very much disliked the writing. It was just very flat and boring to me. But I know a lot of people really like it. I did actually enjoy the movies.
The writing could have used a bit of work, but she did her job of writing an immersive and entertaining story for those who are interested in the subject matter.
It’s guilty pleasure, I’m not gonna lie. Don’t expect the most excellent prose of your life though, and chill any feelings you might have about sexual equality.
I loved it because of the way its written. The movie is good but I loved the books way better. She just has a way of writing that really grabs your attention.
I read them on a vacation when I was about.. 17-18, maybe a bit younger, and I really enjoyed them back then. (I don’t remember why they were enjoyable exactly, but I know I had to get away from the people (screaming, bickering teenagers) I was on a vacation with, and these books were the perfect escape. I remember it as a really good reading experience.)
I didn’t read them right away but waited because I don’t care for stories of vampires and the sort but let me tell you!!! I loved them! I thought the story line was fantastic and well thought out and to this day it’s in my top 10 …many people are surprised by this and I get a little embarrassed to admit it but it was just a great series…movies weren’t so great…..
I personally couldn’t stand Bella’s narrative. I’ll give her credit for being consistently obsessive about knowing she was obsessed over by both a vampire and a native guy with morphing powers. And I found the idea of her being potential future mother inlaw to Jacob a tad icky. I did enjoy the unique back stories of the other vampires though.
I read the series, thought it was entertaining. Sure, obssession is there, but that’s most romance. I couldn’t get past the first 20 pages of Shades of Grey, because it was so poorly written. Never got to the porn, lol. If you want that, read Anne Rice’s Beauty series written under her pseudonym. So, basically, yes, the Twilight series is readable. The Host, written by the Twilight author, is superb writing. I recommend that one!
Personally, I say no. It’s not well-written, and it glamorizes abusive relationships by portraying them as romantic. (Writing about abusive relationships and toxic people is completely fine, but I think it’s important to write about them in such a way that it’s clear that it IS abusive and toxic. Twilight acts as though stalking and emotional abuse is the epitome of True Love, and I find that problematic.)
I loved the last book. They were grown up and she became a vampire. They became adults and a family at that point.
My husband’s cousin loved it. I like her so thought I would too. I’m not much for teen angst and all that. However, I did finish all the books so I enjoyed them enough to finish them.
It depends on how much you like YA books. Very much a personal taste sort of thing.
Tried reading it years ago, but not really my taste. Bella and Edward’s unhealthy relationship turned me off so much. It’s really concerning how it was written in such a way that you’d think being in an abusive relationship is fine, which is absolutely not.
i didn’t get the abusive side of it, mind you, I read the books quite a while ago ? I remember a teen girl deep in teen-love with a evasive mysterious good looking guy, and how he insisted in not making her one of them. But don’t recall her being uncomfortable or uneasy by his proximity, despite him telling her he was a danger for humans and all…
I have mixed feelings about it. I loved the series when I first read it, but hearing everyone else’s reviews and then going back and checking everything myself, I’m starting to believe that maybe the series wasn’t as great as I originally thought
@Lori Not to mention her overuse of certain words, contradicting her own plots, oh yeah and making up places on the map that literally doesn’t exist. I dunno why but that irked me.
If it makes you feel better, 90% of what you read can be torn apart in one regard or another. She left a lot of room improvement for sure. But you liked it originally, and that’s got to count for something. Right?
@Amy, yes! It isn’t great literature. Nonexistent places went along with “vampire” so I let it slide. I thought the movies were better. Even with the flatness of the actress who portrayed Bella. Don’t overthink them and they’re entertaining. #justforfun
Loved it my dear. Those who think their relationship was unhealthy should leave people to carry their load themselves. Whwas it unhealthy? Did he beat her or use abusive words? Was he emotionally destructive? Just because she was not as strong as you doesn’t mean it was a bad read. People have their own personalities and what you don’t like is not everyone’s recipe.
agree, unrealistic? yes, a tad monotonous sometimes? yes, abusive? no, unhealthy? no (unless we refer to the health risks that come with friending vampires ?)
i loved the movies. but when i finally read the first book…..ehhhhh…… i decided not to read the others. it didnt make me feel the same way i felt which was love for the movies. i prefered the movie over the books. didnt waste my money though because the copies i have are my moms old ones.
I’d say no, because there is just so much better stuff out there now. If you are looking for a good, exhilarating, supernatural romance there’s plenty of series to choose from who don’t have an abysmally long, weird, and boring ending. It’s just not worth it in my opinion.
Im trying to finish the first tome now, am on page 350 its hard to continue now cause i have watched the movie, the character is a little bit different
I enjoyed them, and they kind of annoy me as well, some of the characters are good some are not so much, Edward does annoys me and Bella is a bit of a dull character but it is easy to read.
I’m reading it for the second time now I am Deff a huge twilight fan always have been
What’s so good about it?
I wish I could explain lol I just love the story itself and I’ve always been a big ?♀️ vampire fan. I love the characters.
@Cassandra why do people hate it though? Hahahaha
A lot of people say the writing isn’t that great and they don’t like the character development but to each his own
@Cassandra some also hate it because of the imprint thing, right?
I guess but that all depends on how u look at it. I didn’t find that creepy. I found it sweet
BAD LIP READING! I love this channel ?
It’s okay if you like YA but there is a lot of filler information that feels unimportant to the storyline so parts of it drag. In my opinion it’s not that well written.
Because of the simplified writing style it also reads fast but still feels like it’s dragging which is a really odd combination.
I’m personally not the biggest fan. I don’t like the writing and the story isn’t my favorite. However, I know there are people who really enjoy the books.
It is good read if you are a fan of hardcore romantic genre or wish to read casually. But i would say give it a try
So it’s like a romantic fantasy?
Yes
The writing is very simple so if that’s not something you like then I would recommend no
If u like some romantic story it’s nice
Oh it was addictive for me. I really like them!
I liked the books far better than the movies. I had to read all of them!
Yes it is.
The story itself is entertaining, but the writing is simple. It was a nice escape for me when I read it years ago.
It was an entertaining quick read.
Yes it Is

This is actually a great explanation. Thank you!
I enjoyed them.

actually… Bella didn’t want to be married, it took about a book or two for what’s-his-name to convince her, and only as a condition to make her inmortal ?
@Isabel you are correct….but she needed to be a vamp so bad that she consented.
yeah, it’s just the he-loves-me/he-loves-me-not/I’m-dying-of-love-for-him teen romance ?
And he’s not a teen. ?
@Gretchen lol! true!!
I read them. I think if you keep your expectations low they’re good. They don’t have a lot of substance make-you-think while reading. They’re different
That’s too bad ‘cause I expect highly of the books that I buy
@Julienne if that’s the case then skip it
Yes! Can’t explain why, it just is. Lol I stared the first book after the 2nd movie was out, and I was hooked! No. It’s some of the worst writing I’ve seen in print. Sorry, but if you like the story idea, just watch the (also awful) films.
Nope.
For me, no. I just didn’t enjoy the storyline. However it doesn’t mean that the book itself is bad, I felt it was well written
Nice quick story no real adult drama not page turner but if u want something u can walk away easy from
Like if u only have 30 mins u can read and stop without ur heart breaking wanting to read more
I want page turner books. ? Because I get reading slump so easily
The only way Twilight would ever be good (to me) is if it had Buffy in it and there were no vampires or werewolves left by the end of the book.
Love
it depends on your expectations ?
I have high expectations. ? I love fast-paced and page turner books. I hate books with repetitive descriptions and redundant sentences. I also love awesome battle scenes and hate cliche love stories. Would I love it?
no, definitely no ?
@Julienne No!
@Tika Guess I won’t read it then.
Twilight was a guilty pleasure. Not much literary merit but fun.
It depends on what you’re looking for. If you want to read a shallow YA with a love triangle and okay writing, go for it. It definitely kept me interested. You just have to read it for what it is
It’s quick read … It will appeal to the teenage girl in you … Don’t have more expectation …but fun nonetheless
good to spent some evenings, I think. I liked the books.entertaining I would call them.
Yeah… if you’re feeling lazy and brainless. Like when I watch the Bold and the Beautiful 😉
I understand.
I read the series when I was 13/14. Honestly I liked the story line but the writing was lacking. Not very descriptive and not a lot of character development imo. I don’t regret reading them but I never fell in love with it. I give them a 6/10 lol.

When you put it that way, it sounds weird ?
I guess I would be pretty angsty also if I had to sit through geometry and French for 200 years
Aren’t you being overly generous comparing it to the depth of bowl of oatmeal?
To be fair, I banged them out over the course of a week on deployment when I was 20. So, if you have a lot of free time and literally nothing else to read or do, they’re great.
That’s definitely a fair excuse, but I think I would have opted for the oatmeal ?.
I sort of wanted the bus to win at the beginning. ?? But to each their own. I have friends that were obsessed!
The eternal fight between beastiality and necrophilia.
Stealing!

Right!
I can’t stand the girl who played Bella – it’s like she’s physically incapable of smiling.
@Wendy HAHAHHAHAAHHHAHAHAHHAA this made me laugh because it’s true. She looked bored with what she’s doing. Her smiles looked forced.
Yes! Lol. I think that’s what ruined the movies for me. The two main characters didn’t fit the ones in my head at all.
@Julienne, yes, and like she’s in constant pain. It was a weird interpretation of Bella’s inner turmoil. It looked more like bowel issues.
…that was mean. I’m not really a mean person. I swear. But, it seriously is how I felt about her in the movies. ?♀️
Well she acted that way because thats how bella is in the books. Stephanie admitted to forgetting tonwrite a lot of bellas reactions. If you see the actress in other movies shes actually very good. But youll notice she plays a depressed teenager verybwell.

Yeah, the second book was really hard for me to trudge through too. Way too much pining and complaining. But I loved the last book.
I enjoyed.

I enjoyed it when I was in highschool. My aunt gave me all the books and I really want to get rid of them to make room for other books. ??
I need to buy them from you I lent mine out and never got them back
@Jeannie My aunt wrote in mine
It is her other book the host is really good too if you don’t want to read about vampires and werewolves
I really liked the host!
@Lisa me too!!
I actually liked the first 3 books. The movies, not so much.
Awesome!!
Soooo addictive
Still don’t understand why people say its guilty pleasure
What do you mean by “guilty pleasure”? I really don’t understand that ?
@Julienne I guess it means that it has things like kissing and…etc
But twilight had only kisses
But Meyer made it look hot by the way she expressed it

I think so. I love them
I loved them.
I think yes if you are 15 years old.
I’m 16 ? guess I won’t like it then.
I’m 14 and I read it
Seriously what’s wrong with this series ??
They said it’s not a page-turner with bad descriptions. I hate those kind of books. Gives me reading slump.
@Julienne really ??
@Sama yeah.
@Sama Nothing wrong. In fact quite good but it may not be your book if you find the characters in the book a little bit too perfectly good-looking, too rich, too in love like I do. I think it’s good for teenage boys or girls who fancy dramatic love stories.

I read the first book under extreme protest, and I was bored out of my skull. And I really detested what Meyers did to the vampiric lore.
I read them in a week lol
i really enjoyed them. They’re well written and captivating. The movies kind of ruined them for me though.
Loved it- I am a sucker for young romance novels!
I loved them. Read them when I was in my 30’s. I thought they were engrossing and quick reads.
I liked the first 3.. then I stopped. The 1st one is the best. But it gets annoying that everyone “murmured “. “Bella murmured ” “murmured edward” lol
@Brandy yeah I’m so far behind lol…
*********
there’s another book series that’s by Karen Marie Moning … looooooooove her romances. Darkfever series… so good. I recommend reading her romances before that series just so you know the back story & some small side story mentions. But you don’t have to..
@Jill I love her too! I’ve read all her books including the Highlander series! ?? Fangirling
@Brandy ahhhhh!!
I really loved the books. Effortless writing, the characters are easy to connect with and love, and the overall story was not too far fetched even for fantasy writing.
Rennet! Don’t judge a book by its movie!
I re read the series recently and was surprised to find that the writing was…good. after all the negative hype from the movie I expected something terrible, but I enjoyed the read
I liked them all
My friend kept bugging me to read the first one “Twilight” i read about 10 chapters, tossed it back to him. Teen junk. Full of teen angst. I’d rather stick pins in my eyes.
I hated them… In my opinion it was nothing but teenage angst and terrible writing. Bella is a terrible character and the sparkling vampires is so stupid IMO. This ought to show you how terrible the writing is:
I really enjoyed them xxx
I really enjoyed the books
I really enjoyed them. I thought she had really good foreshadowing and character development.
I enjoyed them.
Read them all in a week. They were an easy read. But not extraordinary. Fourth book was disappointing. And the narrative wasn’t captivating. 3 stars 🙂
Why not read it, if not why not?
Yes
I got really frustrated with Bella. All that pining for a man, vampire or otherwise, was a bit nauseating. Before Stephenie Meyer became a THING, I read The Host and really liked it. I think Meyer does settings very well.
I loved the host!!
Watched the movies .i was hooked
I enjoyed them – easy read and pure escapism!
Terrible writing.
Quick and easy reads, I liked them.
Only if you’re high
We always have the Reading Nook for recommendations!! Haha!
I tried reading twilight. I just couldn’t get into it because I found the writing abhorrent.
Yes
Oh my gosh a resounding YES!!
Good
Yes
Reading them made me quite angry and upset, I can’t speak for anyone else. I felt that Bella was always doing herself down, constantly going on about how she didn’t deserve Edward because he was Just! So! Awesome! Girl needed some self-esteem to the point where if I knew her, I’d be saying she should consider counselling.
I agree. I didn’t care for her “woo is me” attitude
Yes I absolutely love the twilight series.
I read it years ago and enjoyed it but not so sure I would enjoy it now if I reread it. Good not great books.
Twilight inspired me, years after to write Chasing the Red Queen, similar but totally different plot. The movies were entertaining.
It was a good read to me. I enjoyed them
Got me reading but I haven’t read since about 2010
Read it for the supporting characters, who are more interesting and infinitely better than the two leads.
????
Loved them! One of those worlds that just sucks you in.
No! Vampires absolutely do Not sparkle! It was also a slow read. Werewolves were also unbelievable.
No interest in reading them.
It wasn’t the best book in the world, but it was quite fun. Just some silly, escapism.
I tried the first book but couldn’t get into it. The teenage mentality was a little frustrating to me and I very much disliked the writing. It was just very flat and boring to me. But I know a lot of people really like it. I did actually enjoy the movies.
I really enjoyed it, but then I love paranormal romance so…?!
The writing could have used a bit of work, but she did her job of writing an immersive and entertaining story for those who are interested in the subject matter.
I loved them at 16, not so much at 26.
No, I really didn’t enjoy her writing
it was ok, if u want a really easy read, i read them in no time,
I enjoyed it
Loved it
I enjoyed them for what they were-a light, fun and easy read. They were not Faulkner and I was not expecting them to be.
Loved them, it was fun to picture them in your mind after I seen the movies.
I thought they were fun to read
I loved the series but it’s just ingrained in my childhood so I know that changes my perception of the book.
I loved the books when I was in high school!
It’s guilty pleasure, I’m not gonna lie. Don’t expect the most excellent prose of your life though, and chill any feelings you might have about sexual equality.
I liked them at 15, read each book as soon as it came out, but don’t think I would now as an adult. I never saw the movies.
Yes!!! This is what started my reading addiction!! @Andrea ??
Love Twilight!!!
Loved the series- and the extra books.
Badly written but a fun story. Worth it if you enjoy YA and vamps!
It is very YA
I thought the first one was good, but they got less so as I progressed through the series. Just my opinion…but a good easy read though! #BeachBook!
It’s a good tale and an easy read. I saw a couple of the movies, but my image of Bella was not Kristen Stewart, no offense intended to KS. ?
It is all the bad, obssessive, jealous parts of “love.”
#justforfun
@Lori Yeah I really liked the movies despite the bad acting
I loved it!!!!
It’s a very easy read and I found it enjoyable. I was a bit disappointed that there was no fight to the death in the end but I am morbid like that ?
i loved the movies. but when i finally read the first book…..ehhhhh…… i decided not to read the others. it didnt make me feel the same way i felt which was love for the movies. i prefered the movie over the books. didnt waste my money though because the copies i have are my moms old ones.
The movies are better. How do we say THAT? Lol
I enjoyed. I think the author did particularly well with the teen dialog.
I’d say no, because there is just so much better stuff out there now. If you are looking for a good, exhilarating, supernatural romance there’s plenty of series to choose from who don’t have an abysmally long, weird, and boring ending. It’s just not worth it in my opinion.
Bad writing and weak characters. Not for me
Its good, im currently reading it
Im trying to finish the first tome now, am on page 350 its hard to continue now cause i have watched the movie, the character is a little bit different
Its horrible when you watch the movie then you read the book
Read something else and for twilight just watch the movie
I thought so
I enjoyed them, and they kind of annoy me as well, some of the characters are good some are not so much, Edward does annoys me and Bella is a bit of a dull character but it is easy to read.
