When someone in the bus queue insists on talking, even when you have made it clear that (although you are normally sociable) you are just in the mood to read, and you would very much like to be able to carry on with it – pretty pretty please?
My husband’s vampire &* paranormal romance books CANNOT touch my mystery books…it would contaminate them! Even to having to pack them in separate boxes when we move
Talking about a book character as if they were a real person you’ve known your whole life with another book lover. Then people ask who you’re talking about, and both of you look at them like, “oh…uh…he’s a character in a book we’re reading.”
Not having anywhere near enough bookshelves, being interrupted while reading, and, related to that, people who don’t get that reading a book does NOT equal “doing nothing”.
Wanting to read at night….a physical book, but Hubby is asleep and you can’t turn the light on so you use your cell phone light to read by OR having to close your book and return to work because your lunch break is over
I get so attached to those imaginary characters that I actually start to cry when something bad happens to them and feel terrible afterwards… I don’t think that’s normal
I worked for a small publishing company about 20 years ago and got to go to Book Expo, the big publishing event. Before I had been there 5 hours, I had THREE backpacks that were so full, I could barely walk. Book lovers will get that completely.
Having two full sets of a series and not being able to get rid of either one … I have my own set of the HP books (went to nearly all the midnight releases! 😀 ) and my Mom’s, which I bought for her for Christmases and birthdays … and which she carefully marked (“From Mona, Christmas, 19xx”)
Sooo … I can’t bring myself to get rid of either set!
Creased pages esp in new books before I have read them. Being interrupted during reading or told “oh you aren’t busy so…….” um yes Im busy Im reading right now lol.
Seeing someone flipping and folding the books and cringing, fangirling when you hear about your fav character in a book, having a crush on one of dem characters.
Spending your last on new books when you already have shelves and shelves of unread books! My family/friends think that I need to go to BBA (book buyers anonymous)
My best friend is working on a story and I’m in love with one of her characters and she was like, I don’t know why you like him he dies. I wanted to beat her badly when she said that

The reading slump!! We all have them
What’s the reading slump ??
Where you just don’t feel like reading for a certain amount of time
Ikr!! I haven’t read anything since last November?and collecting books until the slump is over
When a book in a series end with a cliffhanger and you don’t have the sequel.
Or it’s the last book the author put out and have to wait for them to release the next book
The struggle is real
My problem right now?. Have to find the last book of the series i read.
Looking for a book that you really want to read and reread and not finding it
Yeeesssss that drives me insane haha
The balance between reading and socialising. I do want to chat with my colleagues at lunch but have lost 2.5 hrs of reading time a week as a result
When you’re on your way to work and realize you forgot your Kindle so you go to Safeway just to see if they have any books you can read. ?
Put the app on your phone. ?
@Alicia I thought about that, but I don’t like reading on my phone screen.
When an unexpected death appears and no one understands why you’re crying in the corner of your room
When someone in the bus queue insists on talking, even when you have made it clear that (although you are normally sociable) you are just in the mood to read, and you would very much like to be able to carry on with it – pretty pretty please?
…a whole lot! Correlating between ideas in real life and writing
Whenever i want to start my reading, that’s when my boss ask me to do some shitty paper works. ? ?
Lol! Of course it’s like a curse Lol!
Yeah.. I mean for the past hrs, seriously? Hahaha
My husband’s vampire &* paranormal romance books CANNOT touch my mystery books…it would contaminate them! Even to having to pack them in separate boxes when we move
Cozies don’t go on the same bookcase as historicals, even if there is more room on the hisotrical shelf in question
You can’t put two different historical eras on the same bookshelf. They can be on the same bookcase, but a separate shelf
The feeling inside when your book mark falls out.
Can you explain what “book mark falls out” mean ?
Book marker is used to show on what page you are in the book. When it falls out, you have lost your place.
Not enough room on my bookshelves.
I know right
Cliffhangers or a series of books that just ends and it’s like it’s unfinished
So many of these are true for me.
Falling in love with a fictional character you know you can never have ???
Ouch…
This is the worst, I’m telling you. ?
My current problem is the pocket in my combats isn’t big enough to keep a book on my person while I’m at work :c
Talking about a book character as if they were a real person you’ve known your whole life with another book lover. Then people ask who you’re talking about, and both of you look at them like, “oh…uh…he’s a character in a book we’re reading.”
Loving a fictional character and knowing they arent real. And then breaking your heart!?
Getting interrupted while reading.
“If you’ve already watched the movie, then why are you reading the book?”
Not having a bookstore in your town. It sucked.
Not enough time in the day for reading. Too many things needing to done.
Getting a spanking brand new book and have someone open it before I do. The same with magazines!
Losing your favorite bookmark
Not having my camo pants with big cargo pockets for my book
Trying to find clean snacks so you dont have to wash your hands

Balancing getting enough sleep with getting enough reading.
Very difficult this one. Clearly I didn’t get it right last night – so tired this morning. ?
Not having anywhere near enough bookshelves, being interrupted while reading, and, related to that, people who don’t get that reading a book does NOT equal “doing nothing”.
Bookshelf space! Waiting for the next in a series.
Some one trying to have a conversation with you THREE PAGES FROM THE END OF THE BOOK I MEAN, COME ON!
I tell them to hold that thought hahaha
It never works like it should. XD
Going into a bookstore when you’re on a tight budget!
Wanting to read at night….a physical book, but Hubby is asleep and you can’t turn the light on so you use your cell phone light to read by OR having to close your book and return to work because your lunch break is over
Deciding between books so you don’t max out your credit card…
Someone reading your book when you come back from a bathroom break and they use your bookmark.
I get so attached to those imaginary characters that I actually start to cry when something bad happens to them and feel terrible afterwards… I don’t think that’s normal
It isn’t???
Maybe it is, why should we care anyway? :p
Normality is a relative term after all, what’s normal to the spider is chaos to the fly
I do that a lot hahaha … Characters are so easy to get attached to haha
So true!
Eating while reading…
I eat and then five minutes later I realize I’m not eating anymore…
Truth! Lunch breaks are so hard.
I can’t stop ordering books! Every time I go on Instagram I just find more books that I want now
Me too
Not wanting to stop reading but your eyes are too tired to focus…
Not enough bookshelves for my precious books
Getting so taken by the world the author has built that you are disappointed that you can’t vacation there.
I worked for a small publishing company about 20 years ago and got to go to Book Expo, the big publishing event. Before I had been there 5 hours, I had THREE backpacks that were so full, I could barely walk. Book lovers will get that completely.
Not being able to find a comfortable reading position!!!
Omg 100% agree!
Only happens several hours after reading

Yeah. And then I carry a LARGE purse … I try to jam more than one book in it …
Or ensuring that your everyday handbag can fit your e-reader.
Having two full sets of a series and not being able to get rid of either one …
I have my own set of the HP books (went to nearly all the midnight releases! 😀 ) and my Mom’s, which I bought for her for Christmases and birthdays … and which she carefully marked (“From Mona, Christmas, 19xx”)
Sooo … I can’t bring myself to get rid of either set!

Neck crinks from reading in one position too long!
The feeling right after you finish a book… that emptiness and all the unanswered questions!!!!
Eyes burning as you HAVE to read one more chapter. Got to get up early to go to work.

Going to the library for one book and picking up 12, AND forgetting to bring an extra bag to carry them!! ? ?
To finish all the chores so could find peaceful time to read ☮️…..

Seeing someone flipping and folding the books and cringing, fangirling when you hear about your fav character in a book, having a crush on one of dem characters.
Spending your last on new books when you already have shelves and shelves of unread books! My family/friends think that I need to go to BBA (book buyers anonymous)
LOL Exactly!!! and plus Im not sure I want to slow down buying books anyways….
Crying because the next book is only next year
Breaking book spines, folding pages, writing inside, or any other form of book mutilation.
Missing work because you spent the night reading!!
The pages turning yellow. 🙁
Not being able to find a book that I desprately neeeed to reeeaaad!!
Wanting to get rid of a book because the cover is bent when you don’t want to spend the money on a new one at the same time
when your eyes want to close because you’re sleepy and you still try hard to keep on reading..
Yes that’s a major huge struggle for me as well. Especially when it’s only 9 in the evening!
Putting the book down, and getting to bed on time.
Finding a bookmark to hold your page!
.
When you walk across the book shop and you are broke ???
Facing difficult synonyms and you didn’t bring a dictionnary with you
When you lose the page ?
When you are really enjoying a book and you get interrupted by people
When you can’t get over a book that changed your life
When you can’t stop moaning over dead characters ??
When you don’t have time
When you badly want to read a book that you don’t have or didn’t find
While you’re reading and your little baby brother/sister/son/daughter accindently pour a liquid on the book
My arm aching as I hold up the book trying not to fall asleep
the choice to put one down for good that you just can’t get thru for whatever reason = or the reason you can’t get thru it.
Trying to stop myself buying more books when i have already got so many to read!
Running out of space to keep books or add more to your collection!
falling in love with a fictional character & then they die or leave the story
My best friend is working on a story and I’m in love with one of her characters and she was like, I don’t know why you like him he dies. I wanted to beat her badly when she said that

I have the same dilemma also 😉
Holding all of my human needs because I’m reading a good book, especially if I’m already in a comfortable position.
Trying to walk to the bathroom without putting your book down.
So, so true! ?
The struggle of too many books coming out, and not enough money to buy them all. I hate picking and choosing.
Waiting on the next book in the series to come out, or finishing a series and starting another series ( with a new author) and being unsure about it
Meeting people who don’t understand –
After each book ends I fear of getting back to the real world! ?
The knowledge that no matter how hard you try, you will never see the bottom of your to-read list
I’ve made my peace with that knowledge!
Having no physical space left and not wanting to let go any books ??????????????????????
the fog-brain you get after several hours of consecutive reading when the book is so good you just really can’t put it down
Being torn between slowing down the reading as I approach the end of a good book or speeding up to find out the ending? The struggle is real
Your book is to heavy to hold comfortable while reading in a nice hot bubble bath ? paperbacks great hardbacks omg ?
