My husband is a big reader of Westerns. Let me say, he has read every Louis L’Amour, every Zane Grey, and a whole list of other Western writers that aren’t so well known. I know many of these books have great stories, and I have tried again and again to get into them, but it just doesn’t work.

Genre, no. But if there is sexual violence I will not read it. Amazon reviewers usually mention it, if it’s really bad. I was caught off guard by Outlander. The book had been out long, but I had never heard anything about it. I’m still traumatized.
Me too, I couldn’t read this book by the favorite author. The initial pages gave an overview that it might have child abuse so just stopped reading it there itself.
