It’s excellent. The books are better it’s true, and the series has now passed them, however the series is extremely well acted and sticks to the books pretty closely. I recommend binge watching before the next series starts!
They are absolutely amazing! The only downside is the series isn’t complete yet, and there’s no inkling as to when Martin will be releasing the next book.
@Lauren it seems he got too involved with the tv show. Now you have to hope he doesn’t… stop living or get Alzheimer’s before he writes the conclusion…
@Kris he was only involved with the show up until season 3, then gave the green light for HBO to proceed as they wish as long as they keep a few specific characters alive. He’s released statements saying he is having writers block with this series and refuses to publish anything that isn’t his best work. I have a feeling we’ll be waiting awhile! ? I’ll be seriously upset it something happens to him before the series is complete! 2 more books to go!
Lauren Ogden a hundred years ago…I read an article in The Week magazine where GRRM was interviewed. He said he’d read posts from fans who had figured out how the story was going to end as he was planning. His thoughts were about whether or not to change the story to thwart these fans. He knows the end. He just needs to connect the dots and write the crazy amazing phenomenal story all of you are awaiting….
I found the printed text difficult to get into. However when I switched to the audiobooks it was easier to gloss over some of the extraneous bits and focus more on the characters and plots.
Kind of violent and grim fantasy– I really love it! Also, it’s been many years since GRRM put out a book in the series, so if you really need to read the series to completion, you might well be disappointed.
The books are difficult to me cause thief told from different perspectives every chapter. And if that character isn’t someone you like I found it hard to read.
My sister said it got to the point one season that she said to herself “if they have one more rape, I’m going to quit watching.” Because of that, I haven’t watched a single episode, but the book is on my TBR.
yes
@Laurie on a scale 1-10 1 being bad 10 excellent

They’re pretty graphic…and more and more side, unimportant characters are added as it goes on.
I absolutely loved it!!
Love them!
It is excellent but it does contain a lot of disturbing issues so it is not for everyone.
@Barbara, very true
Amazing
No ?
Yaaaas.
Fantastic
Amazing

Yes, exactly! He’s known from book one how he wanted it to end, there’s just so much in between story left to tell!
I found the printed text difficult to get into. However when I switched to the audiobooks it was easier to gloss over some of the extraneous bits and focus more on the characters and plots.
I can’t get into the books for some reason. I have tried several times with no luck. The show is awesome. No trouble there! Must be Ned and Robb. LOL
No my favorite time of history!
I must have missed the part about dragons and zombies in World History!

Read the books first!! They are awesome, the tv isn’t bad.
Don’t read the books the author will NEVER finish them
The books are difficult to me cause thief told from different perspectives every chapter. And if that character isn’t someone you like I found it hard to read.
Horrible show the books I can’t get behind. May give it another shot thru books
I loved the books and the show!
I love the books and the audio books are fabulous! If you like the fantasy genre at all, I think you’ll enjoy the series.
Yes!! Great writing and acting!
No recommendation here. I put it down after struggling half way though it.
